Wow, I had an exchange with someone (Randisi) on this thread but evidently they decided to delete.

Anyway, if you did not like Randisi's recommendation of Maxwell House or equivalent swill then buy from Hood River Coffee Co. for roasted or get some green beans and roast your own. Sure you can get local but some places just don't do good coffee.

Edit to add: best advice given see below.

"If you want really good coffee, buy a small roaster and roast your own. It's easy to mail order green beans. PLus you can bulk order the unroasted beans and not have to order roasted coffee frequently. Roasting is pretty simple and will be the best coffee you will ever taste."
