I'm also interested in reading about experiences with a mini-van conversion... Mainly a honda odyssey or toyota sienna.
Been interested in something bigger and more livable than my subaru. An older westie/bus is too unreliable and slow for me. A newer eurovan is too expensive and not that great of gas mileage. The "white van" get's terrible gas mileage so I'm ruling most of those out. And the dream of a sprinter costs way too much $ for my blood.
Anyway, lately I've been thinking about a mini van stripped of it's chairs would be ideal and hopefully get 23+ mpg? nothing fancy, don't need a ton of room or a crazy conversion. Also wondering how it will do on dirt/rough roads....

'03 Subaru Outback... stuck a roof box on it and built a narrow bed for the back. Can sleep two if you really like each other.

Man the Arctic was easy compared to this, but the food was not as good. I may have been blown down & soaked to the bone, the food is f*#king excellent & i don't care about anything else.
