Unknown I've got some nice runners I could send you. Sorry this happend and good luck on your adventures.

1/31/2008 - Yikes!
Up to 10,000 skis are reported missing or stolen every season in Austria alone according to police statistics, around 80 per cent of them in popular ski resorts in the provinces of Tyrol and Salzburg.

silentone - unknown said in the 1st post he's covered by renter's insurance, otherwise I'm sure gear donations would be forthcoming.
He nailed it with don't leave stuff in the car in SF. My very 1st night in the city, someone broke into my car to investigate the contents of a garbage bag left in the back. Over the next year, the few tools I had in the car vanished. Since then I leave nothing in my vehicle. My last couple cars were Toyotas which were magnets for thieves, both breakins and stealing the actual car. I solved the problem finally by putting a club lock on the brake pedal, after the steering wheel was cut to remove a lock. I'd get broken into at least 2-3 times a year parking on the street. Have had Toyotas disappear 5 or 6 times, though they were always found by the cops, usually damaged. A thief blew the clutch on my stolen car once, and dumped it on someone's lawn.
Coming back from a Chinese restaurant on Irving, I apprehended a woman sitting in the driver's seat of my van and going through my glove compartment. She had her older model BMW sitting running behind my car. When the cops showed up, they found a crack pipe in her back pocket and a bag of meth between the 2 front seats of her beemer, the back seat of which was loaded with stuff she was driving around stealing.
Had my car broken into 2 nights in a row after I went to the same movie, parking on Franklin behind the theater. Papers out of the glove compartment all over the place, but nothing worth stealing. I sympathize with anyone who gets ripped off in the city. Now I drive a Subaru and for some reason it never gets broken into (knock on wood). Could be they are tougher to get into than Toyotas.

That sucks. I don't see anything on CL at the moment. I'll keep an eye out for signs of your stuff as I bike in the Mission.

Sorry about your gear bro. Had that happen to me too about 5 years ago outside of Angels Camp Ca, on a back country road while I was caving. It sucks. Hope insurance does more for you than they did for me.

It wasn't wise of me to park on a Tuesday evening when the street sweeper was coming Wednesday morning in SF either. I did it, forgot to move my car, and got a $60 ticket. SF is a pain in the a$$.
