most of the chinese empires.

the us over the last 50 years.

Every society in the history of the world that has remained conservative has withered and died.

I think the polarization in politics has been orchestrated by ultra rich and corporate backing

certainly polarization has been accelerated by interests that benefit from it.

but most ways you measure it, every industrial democracy in the world is more politically polarized than at any time since maybe the late 1960s. europe, israel, uk, japan, us. everyone.

it's like weimar everywhere. god knows we have the brownshirts.

Capitalism and socialism are not mutually exclusive. Once again, people fail to understand that socialism is a spectrum, not an extreme position, and it does not mean "planned economy."

After that statement Donald goes on to prove he is one of those people who fail to understand. Classic! You can't reason with someone who chooses to see things in black and white.

This letter comes to you in the hope that it will find the place in your mind where rationality resides and where decency and sanity, coupled with a healthy sense of anger, will trigger appropriate action. Permit me this forum to rant. We must name and shame Donald Thompson's cheerleaders for their peevish acts of vigilantism. Those who claim otherwise do so only to justify their own callous, blathering dissertations. I don't just warrant that there is no question that Donald's janissaries are currently in the streets, burning, robbing, and looting; I can back that up with facts. For instance, Donald says that the Universe belongs to him by right. That's a stupid thing to say. It's like saying that trees cause more pollution than automobiles do.

Even though supposedly distancing himself from pusillanimous money-worshippers, Donald has really not changed his spots at all. It's a pity that two thousand years after Christ, the voices of illiterate crumbums like him can still be heard, worse still that they're listened to, and worst of all that anyone believes them. There's no shortage of sin in the world today. It's been around since the Garden of Eden and will really persist as long as Donald continues to treat traditional values as if they were petty crimes. Will I allow him to marginalize and eventually even outlaw responsible critics of what I call nit-picky, crass storytellers? As long as there is breath in my earthly body, I assure you I will not. What I will do, however, is inform as many people as possible that Donald once had the audacity to tell me that he is a spokesman for God. My riposte was that to believe that I and others who think he's an obstinate propagandist are secretly using etheric attachment cords to drain people's karmic energy is to deceive ourselves.

Donald truly believes that he is always being misrepresented and/or persecuted. I hope you realize that that's just a revolting pipe dream from a splenetic pipe and that in the real world, Donald clearly intends to rot out the foundations of our religious, moral, and political values. The direful sequence of that result, so flagrantly disgraceful and pathetic in itself, is that illiberal slaves to fashion will practice human sacrifice on a grand scale in some sort of verbally incontinent, clumsy death cult as soon as our backs are turned. He is currently limited to shrieking and spitting when he's confronted with inconvenient facts. In the coming days, however, Donald is likely to switch to some sort of "base racial definitions on lineage, phrenological characteristics, skin hue, and religion" approach to draw our attention away from such facts. In closing, we must work together to report as best as possible the facts and circumstances surrounding Donald Thompson's beastly ideals. Together, we can make a difference. Forever and always.

i would suggest that several (myself included) leftward posters who once kinda "hung out" here just pretty much gave up on this place, due to (unfortunately) somewhat tiresome company of several fauxnews spewers that took up residence.

that may just be my perspective, but mostly when i check back in, i honestly feel like i am not missing too much.

(no disrespect to my many friends that often either post of lurk)

Americans are so brainwashed by corporate media that they don't know what Left is.

The most liberal American politician is downright middle of the road by world standards.

For example universal tax-payer supported healthcare is an untouchable middle of the road bedrock principle in industrialized nations and most others for that matter.

Any politician suggesting to do away with it would be laughed out of office. They would be considered the lunatic fringe of conservatism.

In America most democrats would barely fit in the far right party of most nations.

American standard of living and education has fallen behind dozens of other nations.
