Knowing you Mr. Gordo, you'll have him climbing on that thing in no time. Kid looks to be in good spirits, tell him Kirsten says hi.

hey there say, todd.... great news to hear how they fix these things and stay away from surgery... the body sure can surprise us with adaptabality, when folks with wisdom, can step up to bat...

say, here's to von, adjust well, as to the 'new weight' and may the fingers/hand do well, too...

so many others, are out there that do not get such chances in the ol' 'overcoming' trail...

keep up the good work, to you and your family...
:)

thanks for letting us share your victories, along the way, as well...
:)

edit:
yeah, me too, sue... didn't know that, at all...

Check out his new finger splints to strengthen and stretch out the muscles and bones in his fingers in his left hand....his fingers are not straight and these cool "bling" type splints straighten them out.....looks like something some rap star would wear....he got these the same day he got his cast...

Your son sure has to endure a lot of discomfort..through it all, he is always smiling. What a great attitude he has...what a little trooper.

Best wishes.. ..Von, good job and cool bling!

Thumbs up for your son. Glad he has you to tell him that it's cool. We are all born with imperfections we need to tweak. Some less obvious than others but one things for sure, the same amount is always there. It's either dyslexia, hyperactivity, a bad knee, a tricky heart, etc.

My first piano teacher had those same kind of splints. They really worked.

hey there say, todd....

wow, so wonderful the kinds of stuff they do for kids, as to adjustments, while they are young...

best of all:

keeping good attitudes, too, as to 'add ons' and corrective helps...
it is all for the 'big picture' later on down the road:

being able to be the best you can be, and free to move and enjoy life, :)

wonderful family share, here, todd...
wonderful kid-life!
:)

wish every child had such opportunities...

Makes my day to witness a solid, loving family dealing so positively with life's little vicissitudes.

Way to soldier on, Von!

Cast off today;..unfortunately, with the first cuts, the vibrating blade cut through the cast and either cut or burnt Von's leg a tiny bit;....but I believe it hurt like hell;...after that...well;....he wasn't too psyched to have the rest of it cut off.......after alot of crying and holding him down....the job got done;...too bad, because it should have be a quick, painless procedure......Doc says his foot is looking good;....stretched out, more flexable, and good to go;....he was a bit wobbly with his first step....but loosened up quickly, and started to run about like normal...80 degrees down in La Quinta today too.......

Doc re-fitting his leg brace;..the one he wears everyday..(He calls it his robot-leg..)....time for a new one......this one cost $2000 (which at the time, our HMO did not pay for....now with PPO.....it's covered.....greedy bandits...)......Doc says every year or every two years with the botox and cast.....that's not too bad........
Now for Von's first bath in 16 days......
He DID talk me into buying him a new computor game for his DS.....for his hardship and pain he had to endure today......

What? No autographs on the cast? That makes them way better talking points and souvenirs.

Anyway, hope that the procedure does its job, and that he's back to normal asap.
