I had the same thought Crowley... I wondered if Pate had just deactivated his account on his own accord. I found it a bit surprising that a second person would be banned just by public vote. It's a bit of a disturbing trend if that is the case. Who are we going to gang up on next?
I'm actually more in favor of the temporary time-out over outright banning.
I'm all for free-speech, but there's a point where things just get out of hand and we all need to take a breather and calm down a bit. There is a line that can get crossed in terms of basic common decency. On the flip-side... using E-Kat's example... we are not privy to any threats or inappropriate behavior that may be happening behind the scenes in PM's that may contribute to a person getting banned.

I think you can just contact the site ("contact us") and send a request to deactivate your own account.
Only Reilly can answer the question about who nuked the thread. Was it he- himself or Admin? He certainly didn't seen to mind letting it run.

I too think that pate deleted his own account. He has proven to be a devious mf. People around here go slinging so-called thruths like monkeys sling their own poo poo. You need a modarater to step up an say "I nuked him", other than that no one for sure knows what happened.
I think he just wants to come back with a new idenity.
I also think I will leave for awhile. I don't think people care to talk to me much. But that's my own fault. I joke around too much & maybe my past life has followed me here. I just try now to make each day better inch by inch step by step.
Blustery windy day here in the PNW.
plus my desktop g5 crashed and i got to take care of it and I need to get a job. Bla bla bla

Obviously if you can't do it through your own user account then you have to go though Admin.
Ask admin if you're all so interested and need to know instead of speculating and guessing.

If CMac were to eject the psychos and stalkers,
limited politics, religion and "current affairs" (music, notable events) to one thread each,
and didn't allow conspiracy theory fantasy threads, it would be fine with me.
And perhaps there's some way to combine product reviews,
e.g. have all portaledges reviewed under a single heading, and periodically update it.

When a thread becomes thoroughly offensive, be adults and walk away from it.
If a few retarded Neanderthals want to swing clubs at each other, spit and claw and wrestle in the mud, let them.
I saw the first few posts and then a day later looked at the last few posts and decided it was a waste of MY time to even bother.
Without an audience they'll likely get bored quickly. If not, let them exhaust themselves in spite and anguish.
I do have the advantage of not knowing these guys personally.
Werner was trashed early in the thread in question and right away several people said: don't worry, Werner can take it (sic).
So can the rest of us.
This is entirely different from eKat's troubles which are indeed serious and disturbing. Not just because she's a woman.
