You weren't having a spiritual experience. You were just fugged up is all.

It has given me the sensation of being a prisoner in a cell, one of many cells each holding its own intelligence, that comprise some larger organism. The organism walked around while we were all stuck there, unable to control our fates.
Sounds like the Matrix

I felt shaken for at least an hour afterwards. A strange sense of betrayal was also there. It was as if I had seen that what we experience every day is an illusion, no, a trick. I know others who report a similar feeling of being tricked.
You weren't having a spiritual experience. You were just fugged up is all.
Perhaps so, but why do so many people, with no previous connections or preconceptions report the same experience?

thank you all for posting..I've done my share of hallucinogens. mushrooms, lsd, etc. salvia is without a doubt the most intense short lived "trip" ever. as soon as you take that hit,you can feel that cold flush through the body. it can be hilarious, it can be terrifying, it can be enlightening. i don't think its something to be trifled with. I like what was said above...it plays with you, not vice versa. i tried it the first time after reading "The Teachings of Don Juan", and i felt the whole experience was simply amazing. all from a little plant that sings to the soul. how the hell can something like that be illegal? youtube i gues?
I think the teachings was the most honest thing carlos wrote. after that...all bullshit

Salvia is one nasty drug. I had to try it 3 times to make sure I didnt like it. Gave me the distinct physical sensation of being fed feet first into a woodchipper. Truly unpleasant as hell.

What they don't teach kids in Sunday School is that the mind derives from a finely tuned brain machine and that you don't want to go messing with it willy nilly. Wait for feedback (the beta) from other guinea pigs first before you set sail deep into the abyss.

Is the sensation always in a clockwise spiral? I always refer to this as the cinnimon roll effect.

I have to admit, as much as it has terrified me, it has made me own up to certain shortcomings in my character.
I'll keep trying it, and keep trying to learn something meaningful from my experiences.
A while back I had given a bunch of it away to a friend of a friend who was a very experienced pyschonaut. According to my buddy, this cat was mixing it with mushrooms to prolong the trip. Nucking futs.
So anyway I was talking to this guy, and he had some excellent comments. The most useful came after I told him about the entity telling me that my previous life was an illusion, the one that freaked me out. He asked me if I'd asked the entity any questions. That kinda stumped me. He then said I had to be better prepared next time, and have a question ready.
The most entertaining part of our conversation came when he was relating previous weird drug experiences to me. He leaned across the porch, a pregnant pause in the air, and quietly asked me if I'd ever "smoked Sonoran Toad venom".
All i could say was "errr, umm, nope".
