Oh,.. its not that bad. Should've photographed it earlier.

But I gotta wonder about MTphucker's real name. He says he's an ice climber from Arizona.
Hmmm,
Ok not entirely beyond the realm of the possible, but could it be,....?

No, there's hardly a chance. There must be thousands of AZ climbers, and only ONE that I ever knew of was kicked out of Chez Kyle in Moab.

It couldn't be, could it?

So,... MTucker,
whats yer handle?
Was it you?
You really an ice climber?

How about ponying up some Korbucks for Kyle's set of Footfangs? I'll throw in his other crampons (museum pieces) and his screws (NEARLY museum pieces).

First off;

Some of you guys are all right!

Shout-outs for;
Chris, for updating thread title
Slevin, for a $300 offer
H, for a $100 offer (and noting correctly that the photos helped)
and of course Steve for posting photos (but did anyone notice? There is a pic between 4 & 5, but no #6. Guess it is #4.5-6)

But guys! Why the secret bids? Post 'em! Lets get some competition, maybe we can raise a bit more.
After all, this isn't about scoring hardware at low prices, and at the risk of being boringly redundant (forgive me) Layton's signature on the check will have value. And since he's a headstrong mule of a guy, too proud to accept handouts from his friends (even though there is no doubt in their minds that he would do the same were situations reversed) buying this gear makes it palatable for him to take the much needed dough.

So there it is (hope he doesn't read this).
The guy has inspired four generations of rock climbers with spirit, vision, tenacity, and an unquenchable thirst for the heights.

It is time, in small part, to attempt to repay him.

Steelmonkey; you still want the #4 and three #3 friends? The camalot?
H says he's interested in the triangle-hook thing (its a euro etrier handle, those guys move pretty fast on those all-fixed routes).
Slevin, the tcu and #1 friend by the rurps are pretty toasted, but the other tcus are climb worthy.

Bump it up with bids guys

Give me whichever ones you think will hold a fall.

PS. Apparently, for a financial industry professional, I am pretty stupid. I have ALREADY sent a check only to realize that this is an auction.

Thanks John.

I'm not sure if crunch has a handle on either "reply" or "delete", but his heart is probably in the right place (if you're aiming. lol)

Man. As I drool over the gear pile, I think of the man behind it. God knows how many sleepless nights and heart racing times those pieces felt.

When you look at the gear, think of where they have been and the emotion behind them.

"I'm not sure if crunch has a handle on either "reply" or "delete""

crunch barely has a handle on chewing his cornflakes properly these days.

Thanks for all this work Ron.

OK, after chewing Crunch's cornflakes for him I am putting numerous parcels together.

Here's what's going on;
a minor part malfunction is having major (if temporary) negative ramifications on my computering, so I'm counting on you people to do the right thing.
The right thing is to NOT throw a wet blanket on this process despite how dubious it is.
Priority one is to get Layton some money, so before you hit the "post this reply" review the post, then the thread.

Has somebody already pledged on an item?
If not feel free to do so, but don't be greedy. be generous.
Post it! (How else will somebody know?)

If you know Layton send him the money and me the gear request.
Otherwise send both to me at POB 3, Toquerville, UT, 84774
and I'll forward both.

I'll even attempt to fill gear "gaps" with my own if that is OK. Indicate.

And gimme a break fer phux ache.
I got other stuff going on.
Post smart, and keep this thread on the front page without me.

And stop asking me if the gear is Layton's!

Jeez!

And come to think of it, what is he doing with corn flakes?
Shouldn't he be chewing El Capitan Crunch?

Shameless bump...

and since I stupidly deleted my earlier post, it was asking Piton Santa to send me some of Kyle's old knifeblades and bugaboos.

Thanks again Ron.
