Wow Fixed lines - siege tactics on El Capitan

Sounds like I heard that song before!!!

May be old Warren Harding will watch over you Steve,

He would have approved of your tenacity, that’s certain.

If you have a 10th of his tough spirit you will be just fine.

Good Luck --climb safe.

Good luck, buddy - see you in the spring. Make sure you've got plenty of warm clothes and sleeping gear and coffee, and bring along an extra canister of fuel.

If you've got highs in the 40's, then that should be nice with the sun shining.

Please keep us posted Werner and Nanook!

thanks pete, i assure you i have a phat setup for warmth, plenty of fuel, a north face dark star bag(the warmest synthetic bag that north face ever made) rated to -40 celcius(which is the same as -40 farenheit). i plan on be toasty at night at least. continental drift for us?
doug, you know how rock climbing guides are, they are like condoms, you don't really need them, but it sure is a lot safer with them.
ok, here i go, shipoopoi

Hi Steve...

Have a blast, be brave and holler at the top of every pitch.

You will die, as all of us reading this will. You won't die up there. You are way too solid.

We'll be following you here on the cyber cliff!

-40 is -40, eh? Doesn't matter whether you're a Hoser or a Merrican, you'll still be warm. I'm curious about Genesis - it's a Doug Englekirk route, so it's gonna be good for sure. I'm most interested in just how much obligatory free climbing there is, or if you can outwit it with hooks? Good luck, and stay safe and warm!

And I catch your Drift, Steve. I get Gerbo's pitches but you have to climb Kevin Thaw's - yikes!

Conrad - will buy beta for beers! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!

Cheers,
Pete

You might think about borrowing one of CMac's wingsuits too. Seems like a good idea for a fast get away.
