who knows what is going on.

I think Lynch's recalling of Belichick's response to "how about Brady?" indicates that the Pats recognize their current quarterback as the best chance for success in the near future.

Garopollo has been in the league for 3 years and was going to be a free-agent, one that wanted to play, which he wasn't going to do at New England unless Brady couldn't. It is odd that the loudest voices saying that the Pats made a bad deal were silent, (or even in some case equally loud) prior to the trade saying that Garopollo was an unknown quantity and likely turn out the same as other New England backups when they transitioned to other teams (think Matt Cassels, the most promising of the bunch, who guided them through a 10 and 5 season).

The fact of the matter was that Garopollo was not a "sure thing" of a trade. Hindsight is 20-20 as they say. But good for him, he works hard, and is good, and he demonstrated it.

This does make it an interesting issue for the Pats as they have to time their next quarterback to be ready for Brady's departure (however that happens). But JimmyG was, amazingly, too early. Given that Brady is still making an effort that gets them to the playoffs (with a number 1 seed at that) and is the least expensive starting quarterback (not entirely sure, but certainly plays well below what he could get on the market) would seem that Belichick will continue to want Brady playing with the Pats.

So along those lines I don't understand the Brissett trade to the Colts, but maybe the players they got will be important in the playoffs, we'll see.

Meltdown? I don't think so, but it is somewhat fatiguing that they are in the hunt year after year for more than a decade. Even I am looking at 49er highlights and cheering for them... weird.

If the Pats are looking for stopgap insurance, I hear that Alex Smith is on the trading block.

I'd like to see a Steelers/Vikings SB but I fear the Falcons will beat the Norwegians.

Nice reffing! Jones slipped on his cut and as he got back up the DB blatantly pushed him
back to the ground! NFL refs are so corrupt. Of course, if Jones had caught the ball anyway
he woulda come down out of bounds.

Can’t wait for Steelers/Pats!

Born and raised in Minnesota, suffered through all four SuperBowl losses.

This year would be particularly painful to see them go to the SB and lose, again.

Game is about to start, SKOL Vikes! ..please...

Reilly, would you have been satisfied if they gave the Falcons first and goal on the one?

No one wants the officials to decide the outcome of a game, especially a playoff game. The defensive player simply put his hands out to stop his momentum and avoid going up the back of Jones. One could even argue that Jones was initiating contact by trying to stand up in the defenders path.

As a former DB I'm all for lettin' 'em play. But pushing a guy to the
ground is way more than hand checking and bumping. Yes, I think it
merited a first and goal. I don't like officials deciding a game but I
am more against letting cheaters decide a game. Besides, it was Philly.

Geez Reilly, first you say he slipped, then you say he was pushed to the ground.

The quarterback was out of the pocket!!!

Dood, he slipped on his first cut, then as he tried to get up the DB pushed
him back to the ground. For Pete's sake, Stevie Wonder saw it!

[Click to View YouTube Video] I think the defender was avoiding contact prior to the catch on this play, but it don't matter now.

Congrats, Vikes!

Uh, nothing? That ‘tackle’ was emblematic of the lazy undisciplined players lacking in
fundamental skills and intelligence who just want to make the showy plays. If he had stayed
on his feet and wrapped Diggs up he’d be going to the conference championship instead of home. And then he goes into his locker room and blubbers like a baby! Are you kidding me?

But let’s also give credit to the Vikings’ O line and a really good toss by Keenum.
The catch wasn’t bad neither!

If the Zebra-shirt'd ones had called the flagrant pass interference on the play before, & leading to the blocked punt the game would have continued - The Vikings would have scored on that drive, or not, time and plays- the out come would, for me, have been more true, organic, what ever you call it,
not a contrived by official missed call, or worse, conscious -No Call, let them play, biased by what? attituded.

What a great game!
with out the regular referee interference that badly effects fair play.

A HANDS TO THE FACE GAME, AND A LOT OF -NO CALLS-,THE "LET THEM PLAY, PLAY-OFFS?

IT SAYS TO THE PLAYERS THAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH BLATANT OFFENSES.
SO THAT THE GRABBING OF THE SHOULDER AND PULLING THE MAN OFF THE BALL, BEFORE THE PASS ARRIVES IS A 50/50,THAT YOU GET AWAY WITH THE FOUL.

THAT ONE PLAY; THEN SEEN FOR ITS CHANGING THE GAME, THE WAY IT DID,
WAS THE CAUSE OF THE CONCERN FOR HEAVY-HANDED CALLS OF PASS INTERFERENCE, GOING FORWARD, AND THAT LED TO THE COVERAGE ALONG THE SIDE-LINE.

THE JUMPING AT THE MOMENT OF THE PASS COMPLETION, WAS ALSO THE REASON THAT THE PLAY WENT TO A TOUCHDOWN RATHER THAN A CLOCK-STOPPING PUSH OUT OF BOUNDS.

I AM NOT YELLING JUST LAZY, AND NOT GOING TO UN-DO CAPS LOCK.
