Yo,

I was at 179 this morning, my goal for the challenge. I still need to drop 3 pounds to get to my goal or 176. Then if I stay between there and 180 I'll be in good shape, actually at 6'4 185 is not too bad either.

I have 4 dogs & I was buying a large bag of Purina at Wal-Mart and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry & that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her.

Horrified, she asked if I'd ended up in the hospital in that condition because I had been poisoned.

I told her no; it was because I'd been sitting in the street licking my balls and a car hit me.

I thought one guy was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard as he staggered out the door.

Stupid lady. Why else would I buy dog food?

"Stupid lady. Why else would I buy dog food?"

True story, my Father, a certified dirtbag in the worst senses of the word, was going through Chiropractic school about 15 years ago. As usual he was too poor to pay child support for me, my brother, or my sister, let alone eat properly. So he hit up the local feed store and ordered up a few bags of Purina Monkey Chow. He swore by the stuff, keeping a zip lock of the stuff in his car to offer to the crowd on longer trips for many years after he had returned to the luxuries of Hormel Chili and Fritos. He still gives it mad props when prompted, though he does complain it is a bit gritty.

Wasn't it Coonyard who was quoted once saying something about them buying cat food from the dented can store and then following it up quickly by saying "but it was the good stuff" ??

did pretty good with eating most of the week. wife made homemade pizza last night which didnt help, but wasnt all that fatty either.

heading out to test the hip, at least 5 miles, but no more than 10.

i only ran 5.25, but i ran fast and didnt have any hip issues until the end, which is an improvement.

was down 9.5 this morning, but that was post run weight without hydrating. my guess is im down 7 still

scale had me at 175.2 this morning after a 4 mile run without hydrating. thats .2 lbs to go boys and girls.

i think not going to chipotle for lunch 3 times a week has helped.

Wow you guys are doing great! I had hit my mid-point weigh in at 5.6 down which was pretty good considering this challenge was well, going to be a challenge.

We just got back from 5 days at the Stronghold. Too much booze and carbs - even with the hiking I didn't fare well. Things are looking grim folks, Grimsville™!!

Then again, I'm not known for having regular "movements" while away from home - perhaps there is hope after all.

Sugar-free Jello for dinner.... who's with me?!

susan, i have a great tip for the movement.

eat falafels(sp) for dinner
drink 6 ales
get up at 5am and power down 2 shots of esspresso
run 4 miles

lets just say i had to walk it in and go immediatley to the washing machine/shower.

You had me at "drink 6 ales" but lost me by run 4 miles.

Espresso won't do the trick. Too desensitised to caffeine I suppose. In fact, it's part of the culprit of gaining over the past few days. Russ has been making some pretty yummy coffee drinks - Loaded with high calorie booze, cream and whipped topping.

Thanks for the advise though Jeff!

I am still stuck between 4 and 6 pounds down depending on the day, but down 10 since I moved to CO. I may need to get really drastic and go 100% beer and wine free. Or maybe cut my hair... might be half a pound there if I shaved it off.

Hey,

I'm down 12 pounds and looking forward to free meals from Radical and Goatboy!

Suz,

Who lost (had to pay) at the mid-term?

PS I have no clue who Salad is but I like his program. Decadence followed by a psychological and physical beating into submission. Nice work.
