AOC and Bernie are too left for me but it’s telling that they want the billionaires to pay more of the taxes needed to support our system and that’s a super terrible thing to some people. But these same people support a lying, racist, con man who got massive tax cuts for the billionaires so we have way more debt that will need to be paid with interest by the middle class. And then these people want to think they have the high ground.

All of these things sound radical compared to where we are, but where we are is not a good thing. And this idea of, like, 10% better from garbage shouldn't be what we settle for
I keep hearing this comment is being taken out of context. It sure does sound like she's saying life for the average American is just 10% above garbage.... and I'm wondering how the f*ck do you see our current situation just barely above garbage?
Where do places like Syria or Venezuela rate?
Or any of our neighbors to the south?
Or most of Asia?

EdwardT, I'm quite sure you know the answer to your question, but let me explain.
We compare our status not to the poorest in the world, but to our own poverty class. What's more, many look at the wealthy class with envy. That's create a lot of unhappy people, right or wrong.

That's BS. IMHO
Envy of the wealthy class? When in history has that not been the case? I guess one big difference: today a significant portion of the population believes they are entitled to that wealth. Let's call them entitled brat class.

AOC is only now beginning to establish a record. Votes etc. I find it telling, that the (D)s are ready to throw all of their existing /pols overboard for the shiny new thing.
Consider the plight of my Mayor, Bill deBlasio, who seeming can't even get on the scoreboard in Iowa. He has a record as an administrator. But what people see, they don't like. They prefer someone with no experience and no record.
