Scott,

So sorry to hear about this bro! I'm sending you my healing powers in hopes that you have as good an outcome as mine. Once Scott gets stabilized, keep posting here and anyone who can make him smile should make sure to go visit him in the hospital-klink.

Your words and faces are a large part of what helped me through my recovery!!

Let's do the same for Coz!!

You got this man!!!

There's a lot of sharp professionals on top of this. I'm sure they are making all the right moves.

Very excellent suggestion, Big Mike. Like Todd, sure wish we had some kind of update.

Can't help but remember some of the kindness's of the Coz. Like offering to take me out somewhere special in JTree and place the lost arrow I was carrying on my key chain in memory of Dan.

My candle is lit. Peace and Healing, lynnie

I'm sure Scott's family and friends have thought about this already, but I was allowed to play very soothing, healing music while Dan was in a drug induced coma for the month he spent in intensive care. ICU nurses were unanimous in agreeing that many patients sense it and it can calm and soothe them.

At last report a few minutes ago from Scott's co-worker who's been with him since the injury:
Cozzy's very busted up with multiple fractures and apparently, a shocking sight.
He's described as being in critical condition but expected to live.
He's aware of his surroundings, responsive to verbal stimuli and attempts to open his eyes when asked.
The road to recovery will be long.
That's as much as I can say here at this time.

jesus ! But expected to live means a lot of things on multiple levels.

Chief, can you give us any time frame on approx. length of hospital stay, perhaps release to skilled nursing facility? Can we send cards with positive, good wishes to someone? Be cool if they were waiting for Scott when he "wakes up"? Best, lynne

With all due respect to the need for careful release of information, can you give a rough idea of what happened? Was it a recreational/climbing or guiding incident, or an industrial work-related incident? Or something else?

Get better Scott. Believe me I understand what it is to deck and be knocked out and busted up completely! But...as my friends say...I cheated death and came back to climb again. My hopes are for you to have the same fortune as I experienced.Speedy healing.

As most here appreciate, I'm still getting information second hand and am going to err on the cautious side regarding his location until I know more from him or his family.
He's in an LA hospital receiving the best care possible from a dedicated trauma team.
I'll do my best to get permission to let everyone know where he is by the end of today.

Chief, we don't really need Scott's location. Just an address we can send cards to that will be ready for him when he is able to view them.

I can volunteer my address if those close are not able to deal with this.
If anyone wants to they can send their best wishes and positive thoughts for healing and love to:

Lynne Leichtfuss
PO Box 1739
Valley Center, CA 92082

I'll either mail them to him at the appropriate time or deliver them myself. I'm not that far away. This way, Coz can not only read this thread to know how much we care, but have something to do as he heals.

Like Bachar, Scott did some super nice things for me after Dan died. I want to help Special Dude in any way I can.

Cheers, Lynne
