Dave, maybe the docs should have let her be awake and reading the Taco? The last few days of Tacobullsh*t of who is MTucker, Lober, not Lober, not MTucker, as#@&%es who couldn't rescue a hamster but aren't really as#@&%es after all................ Maybe that would get her heart to flip and flop? It does mine.

In all seriousness, sorry to hear the bad news and keep us posted as to what the docs have planned next.

Heal up, Callie girl! You can always go looking again.

A short story in the spirit of Mighty Hiker:

I went in for one of those treadmill stress tests. Nothing overtly wrong, fact I can't recall why. But I was looking forward to playing "beat the test." You know, trying to be an enduro-badass on the treadmill. Well, I hardly got warmed up when the Doc shut 'er down and helps me to lay down on the couch and goes to staring intently at the squiggles on his monitor.

Then he unhooks me, tells me to come back Monday for a much more serious test, and I leave his office clutching a little bottle of nitroglycerine and with instructions to stay close to medical help.

I spend the weekend trying to reframe myself as a heart patient...

Long story short, word finally comes down from the big-deal second opinion super-specialist: "You're fine. What we have here is just a big ol' athlete's heart."

Disappointing, probably, but this is just the first round.

The good news here is doctors hate not knowing what is wrong and when things don't turn out as expected, they get even more interested in your case, get more experts involved etc. until they do figure it out.

As one who was misdiagnosed and mistreated for asthma for 15 years, my advice is find out who the top specialists in America are for heart problems and seek them out. National Jewish in Denver did me more good in 3 days at figuring out my problem than all the other lesser experts did in 15 years.

You have insurance so if need be, go to the Mayo Clinic or where ever until you get an answer.

Aw Crimpster.. I feel for you. I hope they figure it out soon. If you need a buddy to talk to, I'm here for you. Edit: Jan is wise. The docs really get interested in things they can't figure out. They will fight for you.

Speaking about docs not being able to find things. A few years ago I had a blood clot in my lungs. I went to the emergency room complaining of not being able to breathe. The doc made me blow into this device, and each time I sent it off the charts, so he said I just had some bronchitis and sent me home.

That night it got worse and I ended up calling an ambulance. It turned out that I had one of the biggest clots the techs at the hospital had ever seen. I found out because while I was in the machine, the tech goofed and left the mic on while he called in the other techs and they were all going on about it.

Long story short. Sometimes the docs can't tell right off.

I am not trying to freak you out, I just wanted you to know it is not some evil plot against the mighty Crimpster. Sometimes it just takes time to get to the bottom of things. Hang in there mighty one. My prayers are with you.

Didn't Ouch do a cartoon of you in a superwoman outfit? haha.. that is how I picture you.

Dave here - just got home from the hospital where CG is set up for the night. Her recovery went well and I should be able to bring her home around noon tomorrow. Thanks again for everyone's well wishes. Today was very disappointing, but tomorrow we'll start thinking about what possibilities lay ahead...

Hi all. Thanks for alll the nice words and the bird photos. Not sure the nurse knew what was going on as I just exclaimed YELLOW WARBLER!!! Doc should be by soon so maybe I will know more. Can a place have negative humidity? I think this hospital does!

Crimpie, I hope they figure this thing out, and you get some resolve, there is nothing worse than not knowing, at least you are in an area that should have some of the best specialists. Hang in there.
