Carroll is an excellent coach. He's not going anywhere because of a bad play call. Everyone makes mistakes , that doesn't mean you are suppose to start crying and quit. One bad play doesn't nullify all the great plays that went before ,which got the team there to the Super bowl in the first place
The difference between being a goat and being a hero is just a few inches either way. If the receiver would have caught the ball everyone would be saying how brilliantly Carroll and his offensive coaches called the play. Personally I think Wilson could have made a better throw , but I'm just guessing.
That's football.
Also, Werner is a duck...am I right, am I right ?

Julian Edelman is power house wide out with unreal evasive moves.
It's a shame Sea hawks fuked up in the end.
They where only 1 yard away .....

Insanely bad play call. Just astounding that the Hawks didn't win that game at the end. You've got the Beast who basically doesn't fail (TWICE IN A ROW) to make 1/2 yard, you WANT to suck up every last bit of clock you can anyway, and you THROW... to the INSIDE!?!
Well, hundreds of millions were at stake in Vegas. Who knows what "reality" is?

This is gonna put some of the locals over the edge. Was a great game other than the final outcome. I agree with Ward that Carrol's not going anywhere. It's always easy to second guess another man's decision, however goofy it seems.

Butler has to recognize the play get in position and make the catch, dropping the ball stops the clock on the incompletion... his not falling down in the end zone after the interception could have been bad too... a safety would make it 28-26, a free kick from the 20 by the Patriots might be returned close enough for a field goal and a 28-29 Seahawks win...
after watching as many super bowls as I have, the ones with the Patriots involved often come down to some very improbable play being important. While I enjoy the outcome, it was a very close game and could have easily been a Seahawks victory. A rushing touchdown from that position is something like 60% likely... which means that there was a not so bad chance for a stop and the clock expiring.

How about Edelman's hit on Lane taking him out of the game? I thought that sent an early message.
Sounds like the Falcons are under investigation for cheating re stadium noise. Pats, Saints, Falcons, but my guys are clean I just know it because they haven't gotten caught yet.
Pete deserves all the bad press he gets, but at least when he makes a mistake he doesn't hit the ground.

Still shaking my head this morning but even if we'd won, I'd be bummed the season is over. GoHawks!

According to the experts he made right call but it went bad. Belichik had his bigs in just for a Lynch run. Carroll recognized the package and made the call with three receivers set. The Pats' Browner recognized the the formation and motioned to Butler to go for the ball. Browner moved so the receivers could not set the pick. Kind of like NBA pick and roll. It worked. The Pats made one more play, that's it. Great game. Carroll said in his press conference, he figured he still had two times out and two downs to run the ball. Bultler said post game they practiced this very goal line defense on thurs. Belichik out coached Carroll. Its athletics! Great Game.

Actually, falling down in the end zone after the interception would've been the best scenario. Touchback, Pats ball on the twenty, game ends one play earlier.
Great game though. Now the Seahawks know what the Packers felt like two weeks ago when they gave the game away.
That picture above of Sherman is hilarious.
Bet he comes back next season without his pretty pony tails.
Edit: I just watched that play again, you're right Ed, Butler made the pick in the field of play which could've resulted in a safety. All's well that ends well is the way I see it.

"It's a very hard lesson I hate to learn the hard way."
What lesson did Pete Carroll need to learn in order to not make that play call? It sounded to me like Carroll was saying that he got it wrong because there was a lesson that he had not yet learned.
Sorry for you Seahawks fans tough way to lose.
