Hey Jody, Maybe we do think the same if you see the corruption of the church. I really recommend the book. Modern Christianity does not reflect Jesus' teachings. This is not to say that everything in Christianity is bad. The people are for the most part well meaning, but they are the sheep Jesus talks about and they are being led by blind leaders.
Some examples.
Do you really think that Jesus would support the war in Iraq considering he said to Love your enemies? Yet most modern Christian leader supported the war.
How about all of the child abuse going on in the Catholic Church and the church covering it up?
How about the leader of a major Christian Church, who was advising George Bush, being found to hire male prostitutes and do drugs?
The Church as a whole is corrupt. Thats why revelations talks about most churches having lost their first love. Jesus is not Christianity. Jesus is the way. But to understand that, you would have to understand that we all become the "Way" when we put on the mind of Christ as Paul taught. Early Christians were not called Christians, they were called followers of the way. They did not put their faith in Jesus. They put their faith in the "way". The path to eternal life in freedom. Freedom from suffering. This is the same Path that the Buddha taught. They both put on the mind of Christ and became the way. So did Paul. When you fully embody the mind of Christ, then you become the Christ and therefore your life becomes an example of the way.

So when will you fight?
Buddha indirectly preached an atheistic philosophy.

A brahmana can not fight. He can only fight to defend an attack against the lords property ie temple, deity etc.
If he wants to fight he needs to come down to the warrior level. ksatriya
If I go into an atheist home and attack or say terrible things about his mothers picture on the desk, he will attack and defend her also.
Parallels here?

The sheep ie the followers of Christ are the Lords responsibility (property) therefore it is appropriate for a Christ to fight for his/her followers. He/She fights by using the sword of Truth.

So I come to your property and I will attack and burn the deity of Christ. You will stand there and do nothing?

Of course I won't stand there and do nothing. I will look to see if you speak the Truth. Attack away my friend. The Christ has nothing to fear.

So if I go into Natures house and speak ill of his mother and try to burn her picture I know he will bonk me over my head and throw me out.
If knott I would be disappointed.
Are you knott going to bonk me with a stick over my head and throw me out, John? I know Jody wouldn't hesitate to kick my ass.
He's a ksatriya

I think that you mean that the Church (Christianity) is Jody's mother. Yet Jesus taught that the kingdom is within. I merely flail away at the untruth that has infected Jody's Church. Which do you Love more? The Truth or Your Mother. Jesus taught that to find the way, you must give up your life, even your Mother. Surrender it to the protection of God. He who dwells in the house of the Lord will be safe. The house of the Lord is within. Not something external and certainly not some church. When the blind lead the blind, they will end up in the ditch.

It is always good to defend the weak. The question is "How". Is bonking me over the head really all that necessary over words or a picture? Or a concept?

"The lord is also external"
I would have to disagree with you. The Christ is within. The Christ will reside within anyones heart who allows it and is willing to do the work to make a place for it.

The lord is absolute.

Hey Jody,
So while you kill your enemy you pray for them?
Thou shalt not Kill. He who loves his life shall lose it. He who gives up his life shall have life eternal. This does not mean suicide. It means giving up the love of ones body or physical security. This is the way. Jesus did not teach them to fight the Romans in order to be free. Neither should we fight the Iraqis to be free of our fear. We should pray for them.
There is room in that teaching to defend others, but I do not believe in war. Especially preemptive war.
Hey Werner,
"The lord is absolute.
The picture and him are non different. This is the truth"
Then you have made the picture an idol. God can not be contained in either words or Idols. God is within. Pictures are only reminders of the Truth. Love the Truth, not the picture.

Thou shalt not Kill. When did this teaching become so weak as to condone war?
Certainly protect your family.
