skcreidc, no I work days but have had some trouble falling asleep. Melotonin wouldn't work, other stuff is too strong. I got over it for a few month but on the first night when I restricted the calories I couldn't sleep more than an hour or two because I was just too damn hungry, than waking up to piss like 5 times because I went heavy on the liquids and veggies.
Last night was much better.

justthemaid, how did you get a gig in Jim Herson's basement? That is likely a good spot to become a crusher. :) I like Yoga, especially power vinyasa at PGSF on Mon/Wed. Had a pulled hamstring which is still tight and a semi injured knee, so I stay away from the power class as the pace is faster and I like to focus on breathing/get deeper in the pose. The instructor talked a bit too much on Monday though and my mind wasn't into it.

I noticed, having a bowl of fresh salad in the morning is tastier than Oatmeal. Without any sort of dressing, it is a lot of bulk and not much as far as the calories go. Need to figure out some kind of a dinner which would keep me full but not be more than 200 calories or so. Maybe a microwaved bag of broccoli with half of chicken breast or scallops?

Also, Fage greek yogurt paired with an apple (or blueberries) is a nice lunch option. Like 200 calories, without the added sugar. Only natural sugar found in the apple, which is good to have.

I'm on a downward slope...so that's good. Not like Aya...but slow and steady.

I did bravely run the gauntlet of Girlscout cookies at the market yesterday without caving in. It was hard :(

I agree it's hard. But once they told me it was $5 a box it's gotten a whole lot easier.

Good work everyone!

I've lost 19 lbs since January on the Paleo diet, which is basically just eating meat, fruit, nuts, and vegetables. My girl has lost 10 lbs and we both feel great energy wise. You don't count calories, but you can't eat dairy, grains, preservatives, or sugar. It is hard to shop for food without preservatives or sugars, but doable for a little more money. Cookies and sugar in general were the hardest to avoid and I still drink beer on occasion. Sushi is one of our favorite cheat meals, but pretty healthy for a cheat meal.
The biggest thing is to find what works for you and like most things moderation is key. Great recipes on Pintrest, if anyone is interested in this diet. Cool to see this thread.

Hope you got that licked Vitaliy. I'm bummed to hear my hero (Moose) doesn't even weigh a buck fifty! I'll never loose that much weight!!

Morning weight in was at 184.4 lbs. Down 3.6 lbs. My strategy is no animal products or oils, and eat as much carbs (starch) as I want. Add veggies and some fruit for nutrients each day,

Local CostCo carrying fresh organic blueberries now. This morning was steal cut oats with fresh blueberries. I'll have to eat again at 11 or 12 for sure.

Tonight is vegan chorizo; no oils added, but it does have textured soy protein for that "meaty" mouth feel. Kinda have mixed feeling about that TSP stuff..... Patty likes it tho. Normally anything veganized I am loath to call by the original name, but this tastes pretty legit.

Down 7.5lbs since just after my shoulder injury. Lot of time for relatively little drop. But I figure with Thin Mint season almost over, I'm doing pretty good.

Gym last night.
Need to run tonight. Hope it's not going to rain.

Vitaliy, you suck. Running this morning, feeling gassed, all I could think about was that stupid burrito in your blog. Even now, I can't get it out of my head. Carnitas burrito supreme with green sauce and three bottles of Negra Modelo.......

I found Patty's ginger sauce; whoooooooho. Definitely livened up the brown rice and butternut squash I just ate for lunch.

Dug into the remains of last year's garden for lunch. Beet "tartare" and a coupla old carrots.

One thing that's been hard is keeping my epic weight loss plan on the lowdown around my daughter (including quietly reducing my portion for our shared meals rather than eating something different than her and my hubby). Even in the first grade she comes home with peer-induced worries about getting fat (when in fact she's skin-and-bones). Even if I were to tell her that it's not about being skeletal in order to conform to some societal ideal, but rather, this is about _*THE SEND*_, I'm afraid that the explanation wouldn't take.

how did you get a gig in Jim Herson's basement?

Gig?.. The guy kicked the bucket 15 years ago. I've been trapped in this basement ever since. Little help here? ;)

skcreidc you could try this vegan chorizo recipe http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2015/02/vegan-chorizo-food-lab-recipe.htmlhttp://

I like it a lot. Made it for sushifest breakfast and it seemed to go over well although maybe folks were being nice.

great job everyone. I said it before and I'll continue to say it - nothing would make me happier than to have us all win.. i mean lose... er, yeah that.

My fridge is now stuffed full of veggies. I'm usually pretty good about eating well anyway but this challenge makes me think about it a bit more. I think I'm having sauteed onion and spinach in coconut oil with little Field Roast Smoked Apple Vegan Sausage tossed in.

We had a great ride today - went over to Valmont Bike Park. The place is wicked cool.

clinker: noted! my bad!
