After a nice long soaking rain we get clearing skies tomorrow and temps near 80 by next weekend. Next rain due in 10 days. Gotta love the California Central Coast:-)

It seems the Joe's at Weatherbell have missed the mark. Varying amounts of precip in a patchwork that could be +/- 100% in just a few tens of miles, but nowhere approaching the upper end forecast of 24".

Yes Werner the Joe's are legitimate practicing meteorologists/scientists. Take this as a good example ; if these guys who make their living on providing the most accurate customized mid and long term forecasts for industry can only deliver slightly wet pussy moisture out of a ten day deluge forecast, what chance do the government teat suckling imposters in the AGW Industry have of giving any kind of plannable forecast ten or hundred years down the road.

Garbage in, garbage out. Sometimes the garbage is the information, sometimes the processor. If it comes out of our brains, we believe it's all gold regardless. Praise Jesus! Or scientists. Whatever.

Just driving around with the wind shield wipers
on is such an oddity.

This 2nd storm began here about 7am Sunday.
So far 5 solid rain hours with a few real cloud bursts.

I heard that firefighters drove up from Orange County!
Somehow that just doesn't seem right, let alone efficient or cost effective.

Oh ye (me) of so little faith. Sorry to have besmirched the Joe's at Weatherbell's forecast of deluge earlier. My earlier posts were from beakfast at Bruno's in Gerlach when it wasn't raining. Was doing some explorations up that way that was interrupted by increasing area wide rain early in the afternoon. Driving the 125 miles back was interesting waterskiiing at times. Here in Paiute canyon looks like we've had a couple inches of rain. How's it coming down down south guys?

For the last hour the rain has been coming down in biblical proportions in my canyon at 5500' in the Pah Rah range 15 N.E. of Reno. I'm seriously hoping for a taper off soon or my steep dirt road will be a deep gully by am. But I have my kayaks.

I suggest you all do what ever you do, pray, cross fingers, scratch your asses, what ever, just do it so that outlook comes true.

Ass being scratched. I am digging deep.

I'm a-scratching, for a return to a healthy Sierra snowpack, not a flood event in it's rainshadow. Since its 45f here I assume the snow level is fairly high in the Sierra just west of us. That's unfortunate. Rain has slowed here in the last few minutes.

Storm is gone. 67 and I am in shorts. 6mm storm total in our rain gauge, pitiful.
