LEB said: " I love gerbils (or any other animal) and the notion of torturing them in this manner makes me insanely furious."

...but it's ok to torture innocent until proven guilty PEOPLE whose only crime is having the incredible misfortune of livving on ground that is covering up OUR precious resources....Hmmmm.

Interesting, Lois. I would stomp a gerbil in a minute rather than hurt a human, and I'm an environmentalist!

whoa - this one's all over the map...

for the record, and because so many people misunderstand the whole bdsm thing :
not all people that are into that are the same, or there for the same reasons. some people just like the heightened sensations, the intensity, the game of it all - it's gotta be a 'mood is right' for both partners, and it's done in the same spirit as any other erotic encounter. throw in a little bit of fetish, mix well with love and caring, simmer to boil...

then there are the people that are just into the pain and humiliation, either giving or receiving. they don't usually consider the former group as 'really' into things, and the people in the former group are somewhat creeped out by them. imho, this separates the 'issues' group' from the 'i just wanna play' group...

and for safe colors - red, yellow, green for stop, caution, go usually works pretty well ;-)

(i'm gonna get shunned at sushifest, aren't i...)

Pagan, knowing some of the people attending that party, I wouldn't lose any sleep about being shunned over having that knowledge. LOL!

Instead of the roll having a seaweed wrap, it'll be a papertowel tube. Woohoo!

Holy cow, I leave for a while and THIS is what happens?!

LEB, why does everything have to have a sexual component with you? NTTAWWT, of course.

Nita - please don't call me a liar. And I won't call you gullible and naive. Deal?

Nature, thanks for the help. I'm truly sorry I won't be able to repay you by attending Sushifest and raving about your gerbil rolls.

WB

Locker edit - I spewed coffee when I read that one. You are rude, crude, coarse, common and cheap. Locker reply: "I ain't cheap!"

Mimi, Spock?

nita, it's an old Star Trek line. "For...how long....Spock?" was often asked by Captain Kirk in that classic Bill Shatner style.

So whenever someone asks how long? Trekkie fans often respond this way. Sorry to be so esoteric.

LEB, please don't drift this thread into 'Star Trek' territory.

No, I haven't heard that one but check out the Shatner albums on Amazon, etc. The guy's quite prolific. I've only heard one of them and it's hilarious. He mostly reads the words and doesn't actually sing them.

nita, during the 80s, before it got so bad, I was able to live in the Valley to climb. I sometimes worked on searches and was able to make money to continue staying there. I also worked in Mammoth one winter and made really good money and was able to climb the next spring/summer without worrying about eating, fuel, and beer. One thing I remember, whenever the budget got tight, beer was the first to go. Bummer that was!

LEB edit: you may recall that Kirk asked that of Scotty, not Spock. Recall the 'how long before we have power to get the hell out of here' follwed by 'I don't know Captain, the dilithium crystals are all f*#ked up.' 'Maybe an hour, Captain.' 'Scotty, we've only got thirty minutes.' Scene switches to a bulbous and frantic Scotty. Anyway, either an episode or movie had Kirk asking that of Spock. I'm sure a quote search of Trekkie sites would have it. Hoped this helped.
