"Take note, also, that he got very pissed when I noticed this association and suddenly told me to STFU. This remark was a sudden change in his demeanor towards me. He is typically far more benign so perhaps I did hit a raw nerve there."

Don't take it so personally, LEB.

Crowley probably just ran out of Scotch and that's what got his knickers in a twist.

Crowley is nobody's sock puppet. I've not met him of course but his online persona suggests he is similar to others I have encountered who are obsessed with politics, religion, gender or conspiracy.

who cares who A. crowley is? I get a laugh out of some of his posts, and if it turned out to be somebody I've climbed with that would be another laugh. But, I don't understand the signifigance.

The significance of knowing who Merry B, is, is not all that unusual. Anybody climbing on the valley since some time in the late 80's(?) might know these details, or from reading something in a mag ;(climging, R &I,(rolling stone?)) or various guidebooks, somewhere, for that matter.

Goddess? I'd go out on a limb and say she's generally heald in pretty high regard.

I didn't read the SFTU comment as any big reaction, kinda flowed naturally out of the context.

LEB,

It's obvious that Crowley is having a positive affect on you. You are making single sentence posts and yet still making your point. Granted that point is as sharp as a bowling ball but at least it doesn't take you 14 paragraphs to make it.

LEB, bravo and touche!

This thread is coming along nicely. But I'm rather disappointed with the "All off topics here" thread.

"The Crowley family at Father Fred Crowley's ordination in 1934.

L to R: (standing) Rev. John J. Crowley, Rev. Fred Crowley, Rev. Thomas Lyne (uncle from Ireland), Rev. George Crowley, S.J. and Frank M. Crowley"

LMFAO!!

Be nice, Crowley, LEB has not harmed you.

It's called Passive-Aggressive, Bill.

She can't help herself. She won't say anything directly to someone because it wouldn't be "nice". But sliding the little stiletto in with all that innocense can be excused as "Just joking," or maybe "Oh, I didn't mean it like that!" should anyone call her on it, like AC and Moosie and Locker and Wootles, etc...have done.

And then we can all still love Lois because she's so nice.

Come on Lois, I didn't say Crowley was Ragmeat, I said he was the new Ragmeat. in other words, he is fast usurping Ragmeat's throne as, um, whatever Raggy was.

Fer godsakes Fatty--if AC were Mikey Waugh, your arse would be sitting in your front pocket right now. Crowley's waaaaaay more circumspect than Waugh.

Pity.

I will tell you this Crowley is a big f*#king coward not to come forward with his real name.

When I gave him a climbers test online he took minutes to respond to questions every Yosemite climber would know.

It was obvious to me he was googling.
