Kevin's post about Werner wearing down his Yo Hammer made my day. About 20 years ago, I was using my (then) 25-year-old Yosemite Hammer (old style - no caribiner hole) to pound in tent stakes, because I hadn't used it climbing in probably ten years. I got distracted, put the hammer down to tend to something else, and when I returned, it was gone.

Last year I decided it was time to re-learn modern aid, and I needed to replace the hammer. My current Yosemite hammer is pristine. I now know how to fix that condition and save my ego.

"go ask WTF and report back here. The endless speculation is just par for the course around here"

However Werneru might just reply that all possibilities exist, depending on what universe you came from previously

But I am glad we have the image of the smoking duck, which will be remembered and associated with the pithy humor of a Mark Twain-type cynical realist climber. Here on the Taco, I think we will review his words for a long, long time, whether we see Werner posting here again or not.

At least we have his entertaining and educational words—as well as his enigmatic and iconoclastic words—to keep us thinking. :)

LOL

No matter what anyone types now, no one can top Potatohead's exquisite rant.

Potato head, had you considered running for political office? You have the gift.
No, don't run for political office. Keep climbing. It's more honest.

Thank you for a highly entertaining rant, and congratulations on your vocabulary and highly-illustrative ad hominem remarks.

feralfae, who is one of those elderly climbers still working to avoid low-altitude lassitude

OK, I got it, but who is the dude with the big red earz? He used to post here too. Be careful who you associate with.

I just wanted to observe that while Russ has taken any number of extended absences, he's really hitting it out of the park today. The ballcuppers.com bit was probably the best thing I've seen on the internet all day.

I like to think he bailed voluntarily to focus his energy on the Trump Campaign.

Wouldn't that be a rather infra dig thing for Werner to do? Really, that is a question. I don't know.
