Werner,

Rox has a funny way of showing his concern when he completely slanders California and its inhabitants.

He plays devils advocate a lot of times to get people to post, comment and stir the pot.

He also has his opinions like everyone else and sometimes those opinions grind some people the wrong way.

I can assure you his intentions are always good.

But like all of us we are not perfect and at times we get misunderstood .....

Werner,

In general BlowJox seems to believe he is an expert on everything, or at least presents himself that way. I have learned enough to realize how little I know, he doesn't seem to have learned that lesson.

More importantly though Werner, you have opinions that people may disagree with at times (we all do) yet you seem to find a way to present them in a non personal, non confrontational, non assholic manor, BlowJox does not.
Perhaps if he acted less like a blowhard he would be heard much more. Plus slandering California doesn't help him out on this forum. He's prolly not a bad guy but he sure does come across as a huge dick.

Werner if you could just get BloJox to remove his nuts from your chin you might see the light. He is a complete ass and only cares about getting his spew out onto the forum for yet another look how smart I am and everyone hates me rant. At best he is a blowhard liar, and at worst a dangerous psychopath with some real problems, as his past history easily confirms.

Tom,

Fair enough.

Anyone have any idea how many books this area is in? Obviously 2 but I bet it's more like 4 or 6. Seems like there is a kernville area guide, and a few southern Serria books.

Be careful painting the landowner in an assumed bad light, I personally know Bruce Ivey, as I went to school with his kids back in the day. My suggestion is too back off a little and have a reasonable discussion with him about his concerns. He may let climbers in if there is the proper effort to release him from liability, keeping the place clean and such.

He is an avid outdoorsman and appreciates all aspects of outdoor recreation. Unfortunately, many people assume that desert is a wasteland and theirs to trample, and he (they) have to deal with that crap attitude daily. He is by no means filthy rich (a local businessman in the Owens Valley) and is well educated, as well as sitting on the fish and game board a few years ago.

Try to let the process The Chief has started work, and also try to work with Bruce and his "club" to acquire rock climbing access and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Randy Stevenson

ps. I'm NOT sticking up for the lousy treatment kev received - that's just bad manners and no "style" whatsoever! I believe that now that Bruce knows the situation with his caretaker that treatment should stop.

Kev,

uhhh.....I have actually met you twice and that was defintely my first and second impressions of you. This has been reinforced over the last few years by your behavior on this forum.

You never know just how you look through other peoples eyes.

Thanks Spot - and I agree completely.

For those who are interested, you can go to the Inyo County Parcel Information site: http://gis.mono.ca.gov/InyoPV/ and search by PIN 037-230-17 to see a map of Mr. Ivey's property. It appears that much of the good climbing there is on his land if the map is accurate.

Climbing at Fossil Falls has been going on for a long time, and although the area is small there are a number of excellent routes. I hope the access for climbing can be preserved in a way which is suitable to the landowner.

I kinda "don't get" the harshing on Roxjox.

Kev starts a thread that calls some caretaker a dick because he was rude to Kev but when Rox chimes in with helpful and, apparently correct, information, Kev jumps in and starts calling him names right off the bat?

Isn't that the same behavior more or less. If you don't like rude, profane treatment Kev, best not to reflect it yourself. From what I can tell, Rox gave factual and helpful perspectives to help sort out the issue, even after being abused in the process.

Rox sorta reminds me of the villain in a James Bond movie. They are never blatant jerks...they get hated cause they are like the boss at work, polite but making you feel small somehow.

Peace

Karl,

Nice, you weren't even there - WTF...Read the whole thread I was very nice to the caretaker and he was a complete dick including threatening to get a gun. I was leaving for shit's sake. I was nice. I was in a area IN MULTIPLE GUIDE BOOKS, there were NO signs of fences, etc. The situation was totally uncalled for. I thing you just don't like me for some reason - prolly since I know bluey - maybe? LOL.

Spot,

I have had NO interaction with the landowner and he may be perfectly reasonable - this caretaker could have just been a bad apple, who knows. I've got zero to say go or bad wrt him (landowner). I have also learned there was another incident apparently a week or two before (which was reported (not here)) as well (with a dude on an ATV). Anyhow seems like Chief has it under control.

Mr smith,

Perhaps the feeling was mutual...Given your obvious concern about the climbing content of this thread, I'm leaning toward the dick part for you, or at least your last coment.
