I would like to know from Admin. what has happened. It could be a good heads-up as to what really is acceptable around here. Some people might need a reminder once in a while. A few words from Cmac would go a long way.

Kath,
> I was advised, by counsel, to copy and save all this creep's posts - in the event of having to press charges. . . but that's gotten really hard to do, since his MO is to edit, repost, edit again then delete.
Take a screenshot of the post. Then when the original post is edited or disappears, you still have the screenshot.

Locker - there are a couple of ways.
1 - On a windows machine, there is (often) a button on the right side of the keyboard called Print Screen. You can then paste the screen anywhere (like a doc). There is a similar method on a Mac, but I'm not sure of it.
2 - In your browser, go to File, then Save Page As (and it will save the page on your harddrive - be sure to rename it before you save it. You can then open it up offline on your browser).
3 - Print to PDF also works, if you have a PDFmaker
I'm sure there are more ways...

I believe you have the right to report him to the Police as a stalker.
Hopefully that piece of official information is never needed.
Good luck with this seriously ill person.

I think threats of violence are wrong, but I also think there has to be some level of credibility to them. When people live thousands of mile apart, it doesn't appear to be that credible when someone says.. " I'll kick your ass"
Skip just laughed when I said that I wanted to kick his ass. He was correct. I live too far away and I am not very healthy. I still meant it. I did want to kick his ass. But the threat wasn't very credible. It was still wrong and I did apologize for it. The thing is, the cops have to determine if a threat is credible. Its not assault if its not credible.
Could Rox kick Pates rear? That is possible.
Would he travel thousands of miles to do it? Not likely.
Locker, you don't like Rox and all you do it pick pick pick on him. You think of him like a rabid dog, so don't be surprised if the rabid dog bites you. I would tell Rox to knock off the threats, but he is being harassed. And you contribute to that harassment.
I think its wrong to threaten someone, but I also think its wrong to follow someone around and after everything they post, post something negative about them. Whether it is pictures or words.

Ekat or someone.. would you email me who is bothering you. So that I can keep an eye out to help you. I'm on a lot, but haven't seen anything recent sent against you. I am sorry this is happening to you and definitely think that you should speak up more. Even go to the cops if this guy really does move up to Shasta. Please don't think that it is wrong to speak up when you are being hassled. The only way we can help each other is to speak up.

Locker is just feeling angry 'cause Annie wouldn't move to CO with him plus
he hasn't been able to 'man up' yet and sock those two bolts in at the

EKat told me of her concerns over a year ago, and we've occasionally been in touch about it since then. The person in question started posting in summer 2009, and is still posting (last post October 22nd). The posts and posting style alone indicate serious mental instability or illness. (He's weird.) When added to his off-line contact with EKat, a serious problem.
Someone need not engage in on-line offensive behaviour to be a problem, though. Some of us sometimes forget that this is a very public place, with the number of "lurkers" being ten or more times the number of posters. It's sometimes not hard to glean things about people that they might prefer were private, or at least among friends, particularly given the propensity of some to emote. Also, it's possible to set up a dummy account, solely for the purpose of sending offensive personal messages to people. Presumably the SuperTopo server would have some record of what is sent.
In a sense, at least EKat's stalker is out in the open, although that may not make it any simpler to stop him. Simply banning him may not do a lot of good - he can just set up another dummy account. And he can always sit and lurk, and use any information that is posted.

Rox was making all kinds of threats involving his job, parole, etc. etc. he threatened my physically at least 4 times.
here is the deal. is it fair to ban someone cuz they are an ass but not ban someone who threatens violence?
the thing is, rox had LOTS of chances to turn the other cheek and instead chose to bend right on over and ask for it. locker gave it to him, (sorry locker!)
EDIT:
i dont give a crap about his threats to me so much, if i did i would drive to boise and give him what he wants. but there is something fundamentally wrong about a jerk not taking his own medicine....

Let the light of day shine on the person and his antics and watch him scurry away like a cockroach Ekat. I wish you nothing but the best, no one should experience that kind of crap.
