Folks feel threatened by Klimmer shaking the security of their world view, so they lash out. But it's the haters that show negative colors in their responses if they don't know evidence or reason in rebuttal (which is always welcome)
actually, i don't think that folks feel threatened...they just feel like they are dealing with someone highly irrational.

LOL!
The only time anyone would be threatened by Klimmer is if he were teaching their kids his world view.

Nobody really knows what's ultimately true.
People always say this.
This is not true ever.
There is ONE who knows everything always .....

Obviously you would care Tami. That was my point, the parents would care.
I said nothing about what he teaches on ST.

i'd like to point out that rick d managed to dig up a little local lore about tucson but never listed his first ascents on mt. lemmon.
i'd also like to point out that hawkeye got pretty quiet on another thread when i challenged him to substantiate his allegation that he's a canadian lawyer. he did continue to display his rather unlawyerly lack of sophistication, however. to him, anti-semitism, anti-zionism and holocaust denial all seem to be the same thing and, curiously, punishable by prison sentences. has canada gotten to the point of policing thought? for once, they're ahead of us.

And klimmer irrational ? Yeah, a lot of people are. Did anybody tell Juan to stop posting ? Irrational is one thing........ nasty is another. Klimmer is not nasty ; he always does the turn-the-other-cheek thing when the daggers are drawn.
That's the main point with me. To lash out at the guy is just another form of road rage, taking the negativity within us and pointing at the convenient guy who is out of the club of our thinking.
peace

lawyer?
find out where i said that and i will give you a booby prize. klimmer is irrational IMHO, but causes no harm to me. i would never interfere with his job or personal life. if he was teaching my kid, i would have a talk to my kid first. you see, i happen to believe that interfering with someone's personal life is BS. got that?
but unfortunately, RJ and tbird think it is their right to pry into others personal life beyond what is posted here. for the record, i have a BS and MS in Engineering as if it really matters on a topic like this.
lawyer? someone is smokin sumtin and it aint me. remember how you blew a fuse rocky on someone lieing? well tony is full of crap on this one...

Hawkeye -- "you guys need to get a life and lighten up."
Nope it's really really YOU.
You're losing it. You're a stalker.
No life, therefore you need to constantly stalk klimmer, Roxjox, et all ....
Bye now, we'll see you rack up your 40 or more stalker posts by the end of your stalking day.

don't know where i got that impression, hawkeye, and i apologize. it isn't showing up in any searches and when i try going through that ark-on-the-moon thread, it's so full of graniteclimber's crap that it's not worth the effort. you did play lawyer, but your tongue-in-cheek was apparent.

But try to remember I sometimes post on stuff quite unlikely, so as to further a topic I see as fun, and don't get so damn self-righteous about it. If somebody doesn't take the "Pro" side of an argument or discussion, YOU can't appear so superior for taking the conventional, unimaginative side of the discussion.
I don't make that stuff up. Its all other peoples work (for the most part). I just read/view/listen to it faster than you, digest and tell what the supporters of the argument might say (have said) to your un-imaginative reply. Without that SERVICE, you would be there puffing away all by yourself. That might be fun for you, but it would bore the lunch right out of me.
What, you want ONE post on a topic, then YOU can end it? That is pretty close to the alternative if you don't allow anybody to post to the other side from you. Stop calling everybody an idiot for trying to be "NOT YOU"
you clearly are an arrogant windbag. of course this is nothing personal but you telling me what the rules are on this public forum. yep, my humble opinion is that you ceratinly are full of yourself.
