These cats were unfortunately left behind, and the caregiver has been circulating a flyer for somebody to claim them. They belonged to the late Woody Stark, and Mr. Cohen was asked to care for them temporarily until someone came to claim them. He told me about these cats a couple of months ago and I told him to post something here, but he wasn't familiar with the site. If anyone would like to raise them, or has information on someone who would, please contact the caregiver below. He lives in Riverside, CA. Please call only if you are serious about adopting them.

Wow. This is sad to hear - on the initial threads about Woody's accident, I think several people inquired as to the cats and were told that they were taken care of.

Everyone was under the impression that the cats had found a perminent home.
I can't take them, but I'll do some asking around.

Oh man, I wish I could take them on, I love Siamese!
Damn! (Not where I live, no way)
Here's hoping they find a home, together if possible.
Hard enough they lost their *dad*.

I am Tia Stark and Woody Stark's Mom; Marye Steckley. The Cohen families are helping us find a home for Sasha and Annie (the Siamese sisters). Woody's other animals, Lady (the Sheltie) and Squeak (the cat) have been adopted by a great lady.
We would really like to find a home for Sasha and Annie. They are in a foster home with Larry Cohen in Riverside. He has been a godsend for taking Sasha and Annie on such short notice.
We have contacted the Siamese Rescue in Agoura, CA, and they are looking also for a permanent home for Sasha and Annie. The more people we can have helping us look for a home the greater it will be.
We can't bring Sasha and Annie to our home in Oregon; they are SoCal born and bred and would freeze to death up here. Just ask Tia. Since I stopped rock climbing and mountaineering, my social contacts don't have the same type of intellectual conversations that Sasha and Annie are accustomed to listening to and participating in.
The climbing community has been so supportive and given our family so much comfort during this time. I want to express how much it has meant to us during this time. I could hug each and every one of you. The Memorial Service at Joshua Tree was a time of great memories. Thank you to those that were there in body and spirit. (Some spirits floating a little higher than others).
So, if you can contact Larry Cohen or me on any leads for a home for Sasha and Annie. He is in Riverside and transportation will be arranged to get them to a new home.

God bless you Dwain, for doing what you can to help Woody's precious cats. Even if it ends that you're not able - it's still good of you to try.

Dwain - I am sorry to know your Burmese passed away rcently. 18 years old - wow! But of course it is still painful, and you will miss the kit. Knowing they lived to and through old age is but a small consolation.
An interesting aside: A few weeks ago, there was a kitty on the same train as teddy and I. Teddy was SO interested in sniffing that cat, and the cat's man was into Teddy too, as he reminded him of his pup from years ago.
We got to talking, and the man told me that this kitty had shown up on their doorstep, 3 days after their family cat passed away of old age. They felt the kitty a gift from the universe and took it in. And the bond was instantaneous.
