It's a yawner.... besides that Onyx/Funguy following any post about FISH around, there are some parts not adding up with the event. I've never received any emails, and certainly not numerous over the last 3 months from the guy. Probably a technical problem with some mail filter. Now the phone.... that will never work. I don't answer it, look at it, or pull messages. It says to email me on the voicemail..... so if your email don't work, that could be a problem.
Added: Just searched my local trash and junk mail folders... nada on that name, or anything like it...
We'll see how it shakes out....
This just in: Main server has 52,000 junk mail messages in the folder (about 2 months worth) and none from the cam guy. Odd.....

I am the person who started the thread at mountainproject.
Russ, I am not making this up. For your reference I went back through my sent email files from April and May. I don't have records prior to April. I sent you emails via your website link on April 6, and 27, and two more May 14. I also left a phone message last Thursday because I was not receiving email replies.
Here is the most recent autoreply from your system (Same as previous messages, just the "mid May" part changed):
"We are mostly out of the office until mid May '09. Please adjust your panic accordingly.
Feel free to send us emails and orders, and we'll take a peek at them when we get back into the office. If you have current orders in with us right now, there is an 94.4% chance these are either on the way or being completed at this very moment. We will be in and out all month, so if you had a drop dead date in April or early May, we should still be on schedule with your order.
If you want to be the first kid on the block to get FISH stuff for the Fall climbing season, I would suggest ordering up now.
Thanks! and have a great Spring!"
OK, so please tell me did this reply come from someone else or is it yours?
I have questions for you prior to sending in the gear. Can you please call me? three zero 3 five eight 2 one 7 one zero
Thanks,
Ben

Ben: not saying you didn't send them, just saying I never got them... any of them... which is really odd. The autoreply is sent from the main server. Your message hits, it generates the autoreply, then the server decides what to do with your message. With yours, it seems to be dumping them not even in the trash, but just "away". This is somewhat troubling. Anyway, back to the exciting server story..... so, a message hits the main server, gets checked for spam, viruses, personal filtering, etc.... then gets forwarded to my local machine that does the same set of checks plus about 100 personal "rules" on all the mail it receives. Then, finally, it goes to my inbox. If you wanted your email to get through for sure, try to sell me a bigger dick, something to make me slim, or be a Canadian Pharmacy.
Last night when I searched the various mail boxes, the Junk Mail box had 52,000 emails in it... that is about 2 months. A little less than a thousand a day!
Anyway, let me know exactly what link you were clicking to get an email prepared on your end, and at least the domain from which you are sending your emails (ie: ben@blackball.com etc) I'd like to get this sorted out.
I'll try to call later today....
EDIT: looked at the info at Mt Proj about your domains... I'm checking it out.

Ben,
Can you send me a generic email to: info @ widefetish com
I would like to see the headers on your emails. Use both your accounts if you can. This server is different than the FISH one and will hopefully yield some better results.

Sent, and another autoreply from russ AT fishproducts PUNTO com
I assume the word "bounce" in the header/address stream has significant meaning.

Ben... weird man weird.....
The message to widefetish is sitting on that server, but it will not forward to russ@fishproducts.com and then show up in my inbox. The message is not in the junk or trash at the FishProducts Server.....
my best guess: has your machine ever been part of a zombi plot or has it been infected at one point and sent out tons of spam without you knowing? I ask since I am subscribed to some antispam stuff that operates a "blacklist" for domains that have in the past been known to have sent out tons of spam. It is not a list I can see, and is done automatically by probably SpamAssassin. So, no matter what you or I do, if you are on that list it will nip your emails before they ever get onto the server proper, thus, you get the autoreply, but the message never gets stored on the server at any level or in any folders, like trash or junk.
Maybe some of the big brains here on SuperTopo can confirm my suspicions? Does that sound like what is happening BigBrains?
Anyway, I'll give you a call after I get back from the post office with Kerwins aiders (ya hear that Kerwin... aiders in the mail today!!)

Hmm, no such zombi email plots to my knowledge from my machine. I will contact my domain host and see if I can get any associated info.

Yeah, I've been lurking around and watching these Fish threads, but wanted to see how things shook out before making my case.
So, here goes:
I ordered a couple chalk bags and on the order form where it says "Date Needed" I put in "Whenever" and then where it says "Absolute Drop Dead Date" I put in "Whenever whenever." And for color options I put in "Loud" "Louder" "Crazy" and "Nuts." So what happens? The guy takes like a few weeks and THIS shows up in the mail!
Yeah, that's right, green mirror ball, sequiny fabric! The other bag is the same but in a magenta, by god!!
He's damn lucky these match my heels or I'd be really pissed...
(Oh, and he did a resling on some old tech Friends a couple years back---took him almost a week!!!---and they're still looking brand new, dammit)
