My buddy and I sent Levitation 29 this Saturday with desert temps peaking near 100 degrees. There was a nice little breeze that helped us while we were on the wall, but what got us through was the 3 liters of water we each carried, and sunscreen.
I am wondering if anyone else out there has climbed this thing in hotter temps, or if you know someone who has. We had all of Oak Creek to ourselves and saw no other climbers. All in all with the approach and proper walk off, it was probably one of the hardest things I have climbed. Epic is the only way to describe the route.
I would love to hear your related epic stories if you got one.

One of the best walk offs in Red Rocks.

I did it at the end of a cool February some years back. No epics or drama.

Cheers to you guys being so insane to try this now. You're tempting epics.

Dood - been up this route 2.3 times. The .3 times was when it was upper 90s. Too dam hot. After leading the second pitch I drank most of the quart of water I had. Finished my water at the top of the third pitch. About the same thing for my partner. Was obvious we need to bail. I can't believe you climb the entire route in 100 degree weather. You must have good heat tolerance.

Climb Ohn.

I once read in "tech tips" that it was a good idea to climb in the shade on hot days and, you know, do the opposite on cold days. Is that still the conventional wisdom or am i just being silly?

Sorry, that doesn't fit the 'hottest' category!

You could have climbed it in winter and froze your ass off. Better in the heat, as long as you got some water and sun protection. Way to send bros!

One thing I think is cool about your hottest ascent is the fact that, 100 degrees and all, you guys
stayed with your plan to top out the route and hike down, instead of rapping from lower anchors.

Bought the full canyon experience!

Yeah you miss something if you don't do the walk off and complete the whole adventure.

Zombi:
I was going to say that Lynn Hill's ascent was the HOTTEST :)

MountainProject.com (Justin Dubois):
This route is considered by many to be the BEST route at Red Rocks. Lynn Hill calls it her favorite
route of all time, hard to believe it's better than the free Nose, but to each her own.

One time when I climbed it the cliff swallows were having bird sex all over the freakin' place, which I guess is hot.

If you're into that sort of thing...

PRIDEfull ascent and descent.
But I imagine a prunishly desiccating experience none the less.
While I can admire your solar capacity I have to question the solidity of your grey matter.
Didn't you two know you could have ended up as...
