that I could use? I am designing a wood mural of the RR's south side(view that shows Pine Creek, Oak Creek, Bridge Mountain, Mescalito, Rainbow Mtn, etc).

Here is an idea of the view/content I am looking for:

The resolution on this shot is not so great though, so I am hoping some photog out there can help me out. Willing to buy image if it's posted on a professional site...but so far haven't found one.

This is an example of one of my salmon murals, to give an idea of where I am going with this. It's not that I need to include a ton of detail, but I want to be sure that the features and contours are accurate.

Thanks in advance!!!

Sweet! I'd love to see what you got. That one above is a great shot, too. Great angle and contrasts. I'm inspired.

Thanks, Ninfa! Both look good and show some detail that mine left out.

LOL I saw the post and thought "Ninfa, Indian Climber is da Man or Women I should say, for good RR pano's"

BTW Aloha Sherri and Happy New Year.
If'n you do a RR piece you will have to come back and share a pic of the finished product.

You are a very talented person, not many are able to be as crafty and artistic at the same time, as you ;)

Aloha Johnny! And thanks TB and Philo for the kudos and encouragement. Wood is such a gratifying medium in which to work--it's so beautiful of its own accord that the pictures almost create themselves.

I will post up a photo of the the finished mural next month. Got to finish the tree frog one I'm working on first. In the meantime, here's one I did last winter:

Sherri I am in love with your work. I wonder if I could afford to purchase your Red Rock piece when it is finished.

Fantastic. The wood gives them a very grounded feeling centered in the heart. Nice..

Your work is amazing.
I don't know what you do for a living, but I'll bet you
could make a decent living doing artwork.
Wow!

Thank you all for the positive feedback. I am honored.

Ninfa, you've already been so helpful with the above pics--thank you for checking for others, as well.
I'll give you a shout if I get stuck for details.

Philo, The murals run between $50-100/sf, depending on intricacy and wood species, etc.
Unfortunately, this first one of RR already has a home, but if you like how it turns out I am sure we could figure out something.
I'm excited about this one myself.

SteveW, the art is part of my living(though it's mostly a labor of love);
I also do custom finishwork/tile/log railings etc.

I'd be interested in one of your murals too.
Do you have a catalog or anything that shows your work?
Talk about talent. Wow!

Hi Sherri
I am headed to Red Rocks in the morning, and if you have any specific photos requests let me know as I will have high resolution digital camera with me. Just as long as it doesn't cut into my vertical! :)
Hey, is this the Sherri that just bought a new climbing pad in Vegas???

Thanks, Stzzo!

SteveW--let me know what sort of mural you're interested in.
I have photos of some other wildlife portraits I've done,
but right now I'm kind of in a impressionistic-landscape groove
(trees, rivers, rocks, etc).
Anything is possible.
Would love to design something for you.

Hi Studly!(Wolfdog from rc.com?)
If you get any good panoramic shots, I'd love to see them. Have a fun trip!

Here's a different version of the tree silhouette shown above:

Very Beautiful work/Art. Your railing reminds me of Norwegian's carpentry style.

ps,can we see some wildlife portraits...birds?

Fantastic eye for design and talent for construction there Sherri - very impressed by your work.

Speaking of log rails - ever tried working with manzanita?

Or for the budget route - if you can't afford real wrought iron - but want the look - nothing beats rebar and a can of spray paint -

My latest work in progress - what can one do with a few thousand river pebbles -

*As for the puke green wall - that is just the base color coat for what will be a trompe l'oeil mural of a grove of aspen trees when I get the time.

Gosh--something like the Red Rocks panorama, Yosemite?
the bristlecones?
I'm already psyched!
