Enjoying a Vulgar Display of Power right now.

My little piece of cubicle hell is adjacent to a large meeting room that is used for any big gathering in the 12 story building...which means holiday parties for each division every couple of days...with loud ass PA sytem playing bad christmas music etc.

So after about 2 hours of hearing incessant thump thump thumping through my wall yesterday, I snuck into the mtg room cued up Slayer's Angel of Death on my ipod and tried to plug it into the PA system. They caught me, "what are you doing?". "Uhh, yeah just tring to turn the volume down a bit, I'm trying to get some work done on the otherside of that wall". The look on faces would have been priceless if I coulda pulled it off. Told my boss about it, he thought it was funny.

Well, tonite i'm going to go out on a date with "Cannibal Corpse", then afterwards, I'll bring my imaginary "Daughter to the Slaughter", this will probably whet my appetite so I'll be dining "Down with the Sickness", which will most likely make feel ill, so I'll go on a "Walk" with my panther, but of course i always run into those orney guys so it makes 'F***ing Hostile" when ever I see them.

So I'll "Use my Third Arm" to them down. I'll probably be feeling "Ravenous" so I'll "Kill em All". Of course I'll be feeling remorseful so I'll seek guidance from "The Seventh Son of the Seventh Son" and while comtemplating the perplexities of life, I'll be told to seek the "Wolf and Raven, so being "The Trooper" I toil in "Raining Blood" searching.

Once I find them they'll prolly make me go "Round and round" the "Cradel of Filth" only to make me go "Insane in the membrane" of course I'll feel like "Tool" realizing the previous song isn't metal, so I'll make the "Sign of the Cross" take some "Anthrax" and like my Pa always says, "Die with Your Boots On"

...but of course being dead my spirit will most likely "Fade to Black", but as always at the "11th hour" someone will make a "Nightwish", and bring me back to this "Lucid Interval".

So..."Can I Play with Madness"? Indeed, I do as I type this from the cell of my "Sanitarium"

Cheers

weschrist,
Pailhead WAS good. Al Jorgensen started hanging out with Ian after getting into hardcore through Jello Biafra back between in the early days of Waxtrax/Revolting Cocks but pre-10,000 Homo DJs/agressive Ministry and the LARD collaboration. Anyhow, they recorded that stuff at around the same time that Ian recorded the Egghunt 45 with Jeff Nelson. I think I have the 'I will refuse' 12" around here somewhere. I think Jorgensen is still part owner of Alternative Tentacles.

My favorite metal recording was Maiden's "Live After Death"--the gatefold 2x12" with the booklet covering the whole tour and the "scream for me Long Beach" interludes. Apparently an official DVD is being created of that tour/album. (Martin Birch of Deep Purple recording fame recorded it, by the way.)

Now I only raise devil horns to Black Dove [http://blackdove.solar-funeral.org/] and Sunn O))) [http://www.southernlord.com/band_SUN.php].

Death to false metal.

Jaybrah, you dig the Ramones, it's not much of a stretch from there really. And unlike the Ramones, most of the metal guys can actually play their instruments.

Doin' the stoner metal thing tonight, alot of Kyuss and Monster Magnet in the playlist, although Number of the Beast album got a full playing earlier. Gonna top it off with some Praxis/Buckethead to funk it up a little.

Kyuss...the best (only?) thing to ever come out of Palm Desert, eventually spawned Queens of the Stone Age.

Buckethead is just for youtube isn't he??

Not much for the metal scene since the end of Sepultura. Think of the scene in Apocalypse now with flight of the valkyries playing while the air cav is headed in and substitute Sepultura's "Orgasmatron".

Always loved Iron Maiden while they existed too. What happened to Bruce?

Edit: Oh yeah. And a band I could never tire of seeing live. The Misfits.
