i need a partner for cave rock, a brave soul. Anyone psyched?

i want to go Monday for a big session (July 21st) and start climbing there a bunch over the next month in preparation for a trip to mallorca for some DWS.

I'm psyched to try and tick the main cave.

Even if this isn't a troll, please avoid Cave and go practice at Mayhem Cove area.Climbers have a poor enough reputation in the eyes of the public don't be the selfish schmuck that screws others in future access issues.

noah, climbing was banned at Cave Rock. But you can still go there and enjoy it the way it was before climbers were there, i.e. smash some bottles on the ground and leave a big turd.

Don't go to the Cave!

You can't do this there anymore!

Area CLOSED! Going there will only make things worse!

LOL!

It's funny how this simple, blatant truth conveniently gets swept under the carpet.

This place was quite literally a shithole until climbers––and climbers alone––cleaned it up.

Shame on the PC apologists!

Is that lower wall, seacliff area closed as well?

I beleive the whole area is closed. All the articles that I have found refer to the cave itself.
It's a good idea not to risk it.

noah if you pulled that where i am right now, you would get your tires slashed and the broken glass would be from your car's broken windows. and you would be lucky if that's ALL that happened to you.

just sayin'

Cave Rock is CLOSED.

Whether or not we agree with it, that's how it is. Don't mess up future options by climbing there.

Training for DWS? Good luck dropping off a route into shallow enough water to snap your tib/fib, femur.

It would seem that the lower cliff and the Kona Wall would be open. The focus has been on the Cave, but why risk it?

The lower wall is closed too.

I won't and don't recommend going there, but I don't see how it would matter in terms of making things worse.

As far as I know climbers respected the temporary bans for the most part and got screwed anyway.

We could have easily shared access at different times. But that wasn't even an option from the forest circus.

It's funny too how the FS said it's not about religion just impacts to a cultural resource, so the ban would hold up in court. But all climbing is banned and the cave walls are closed. Bouldering wouldn't harm the resource, but that got banned too... B.S.

The things that got the attention of The Washoe were The floor that Dan Osman put in and the fact that women were touching the rock. The route that Grumpy put up, between the tunnels didn't help either.
