...well, sort of.
I'll be starting vet school in a month. No more work in icky NYC EVER.
In the meantime, we're leaving for Lumpy and RMNP for two weeks on Friday. Yay!!! I' can't wait. The only rock I've ever climbed in CO was some little sport climbing in Ouray last year when the ice was crap!
I am PSYCHED. I just need to get my hands on a guidebook now, so I can figure out what all I want to climb....

That sounds great.
I mean to have this happen at some point.
Not the vet thing, or the animal husbandry, but the extended lack of work thing...

Jingy you should know better than to use the phrase "animal husbandry" at a climbing site.

Congratulations, Aya! Have a great trip. You'll be a great Vet, that's for sure! Big changes ahead for you.....
But it will certainly be nice to get out of this city. Getting ickier by the day.(Notice: Tangent Ahead) Yesterday in the Post Office, we're all in line and the clerk calls "Next! Window 7!"
The guy in front of line doesn't react. People behind him say things like "NEXT! WINDOW 7!"
He still doesn't budge.
MORE people start going "Yo! DUDE!" and stuff....
Nothing.
Finally, I yell out "GET THE HELL OFF YOUR DAMNED PHONE!"
He wakes up from his stupor. And begins moving toward the clerk as if it's finally clicked in his head.
But then..... Wait!
He decides he's got more important business to attend to. He must stop in his tracks, turn around, to leer at the person who called him on his bullsh#t.
He actually dons a stance, tilts his head and....stands there.
Until all the other people started yelling at him. "What's the matter with you?" "Are you going?" "Jeezus Christ!" "HELLOOOOO- WINDOW 7!!!!"
He sniffs, turns on his heels, and goes to window 7, all the while still yacking on his fancy Mac phone - some drivel about his daily minutiae.
GRRRRRRR.

Aya, congrats and have fun in the park! You might look up Tarbuster & the rest of the Front Range ST crew, they're fine folks. See here for some names & faces, with even a few Lumpy Ridge slides.
Who knows, maybe the Cosmic Banditos will still be around.

Reminded me of a funny Seinfield episode...

Congrats! Getting into a vet school is no small feat...
Which one are you headed for?
Maybe give Crimpie and Dave a shout and stop in Eldo for a day or two on the way up to RMNP.

Batman and Robin in Lumpy was sick. great route.
while on the descent, I looked out at the valley below and said "wouldn't it suck if we couldn't find the trail back and wound up humping it all the way to the field?"
so shall it be said, so shall it be done.
and check out the monastary. strong sport climbing outside of estes park.

Aya,
My family and I are living in Estes through August 8. I've got some things penned in already (no more jokes about animal husbandry Ron), but will also have some free days. Email me if you are looking for partners.
