Ok folks, if you paid me for camping you should have recently received an email stating it's now time to cough up the rest of the coin. (I point this out here just in case you missed my email). I've got to order supplies from seven different places (not including the stuff I'll be getting locally) so the sooner the better!

I don't think Blinny will mind me disclosing this - she and Blanchard are IN! That puts the total for this event that are committed at 45. There's still a bit of room but ya'll's better hurry!

Five and a half weeks to go... OH BOY!

Kath, what's the conditions like up at the Kooc right now?

Stone Hill climbable yet?

Ice on the lake still?

This inquiring mind wants to know....

One thing I do want to note: the $60 for food is refundable as long as you notify me a week or so before the event.

Also, the number just jumped to 48. Wheeee!

KoolKat, thanks for the update. I always assumed that section of the lake froze over, not sure why, guess cuz Pend Oreille next to my house freezes like halfway over, and it's two miles wide right here.

One more question, any idea on lake level? I've got some sweet boldering up there that's only above water when the lake is way down....water polished quartzite slopers, yumm!!!

I just wanted to say - Thank you to everyone that is participating in this event. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone and cranking out a whole bunch of sushi. Everyone has been so great about communicating, about being prompt with their funds, etc. that it's made it a wonderful event to coordinate. I'm hoping that this is just the first in the line of many SushiFests to come. We should figure a way to have three of these a year!

I have a 10X10' EZ-Up (popup tent) that will house the sushi bar, stoves, etc.

I'd love to acquire a 10X20' tent or awning that we can hide under. I'd expect the night time temps to be AWESOME!

fold out plastic tables will also be welcome.

Maybe the Rodman will bring his Radar Scattering Camo tarp (it's like 30X50 feet) to give us something to hide from the sun.

We should also build a stage for the Saturday night fashion show!

If RonO would get off his ass and quit climbing with George and go out there and take some pictures we'd know!

How's about it Ron? Time to get on the schtick?

You got it happie... There will be a few things going on on Saturday that should augment the party very nicely.

There are no restrictions on the fashion show other than:
It's not a Flashin' Show - gotta keep it to fashion statements, not skin.

The women are more than welcome to "enter" the event. They may have some stiff competition:

Good fashion (Rich Ellison - AKA T-shirt Rich)

This one is pretty good.

This one gets you arrested:

good gods - what are we getting into ?

if anyone wants to suggest songs that everyone might want to sing along, or just karaoke to your self, post em here and us musical types might get a chance to actually prep em...everything from jose feliciano's chico and the man theme to the latest radiohead would be considered (though no promises..)

edit - no. no kum bi ya...though i can picture 50 people trying to sing cheap trick sounding pretty funny...

Will be arriving in Vegas about 7am that Friday, if anyone, max 2, need a ride let me know, I have to be at the craps tables by Sunday night to earn the money for this trip. First stop out of the airport will be a wine store. After SF I fly to Sacramento with DMT’s "Comeuppance" as my in flight guide to viewing. Left side of the plane. I do not see myself in the fashion show but will support it whole heartedly.

Aloha,
wil

Wil - though we don't expect everyone to participate in the fashion show please do bring your finest party shirt!

I'm wondering... do we have a pro/semi-pro photographer in the group? One thing I would really really like to get out of this whole affair is some most excellent photo's of my sushi and the sushibar in action.

And who has a disco ball they can bring?

Sushifest T-shirts sound like a good idea. Who's a fast designer...

mmm.... T-shirts. excellent idea smithers!

I have the guy that does my graphics working on t-shirt designs.

I've been meaning to have some made for me for the last number of months.

To start I'm going with black with my fish on the front.

Maybe Freddy "The Fish" Mercury will adorn the back in some one line comic with "SushiFest IV:XX 2007" or somesuch on the back. The real question is who wants to cough up for a shirt?

and then there is the issue of where to get them printed...
