Anyone recognize this Adjustable Pipe Chock? It can span a 3 to 4 inch crack. I must have found it in the Valley 30 years ago or so. Who made these?

Can't answer your question but who ever it was was on to something, or on something. Nice archeological find. Thanks for sharing.

Clint,
For the life of me I can't remember where or when I found it. Probably in the Valley, twenty of thirty years ago when I did most of my serious climbing.
Not really interested in selling it. My son is climbing harder than me now and will appreciate it in his collection.

See, that's what men climbed with. I could see a rack of 10 of these things for Excalibur. I'm guessing that this thing came off BURT BRONSON's rack and he'll want it back and not be too pleased with the tardy return.

Good lord, I would hate to have one of those steel legs of Gnomes pull out and come flying down the rope towards me. That thing could kill you..

Here is a view of the unit taken apart. The ends have a couple nubs welded onto them.

Thx! That’s what I was wondering about, too. What size o’ pipe? Must be damn heavy. Be like a fisherman and place a quarter next to your catch!
