Ripped? Like, so totally.
Ripped in half, to be accurate ...

I'd try getting ripped drunk, but I'm too old.

This was when I was 64. For my 65th birthday I did 65 chins in 65 minutes with 65 lbs added *sets of 3 with 3 minute rest. Then I fell, injured my spinal cord and can no longer add muscle so have more of a dad-bod than a ripped one. I am now 67, 2 years + since the accident. But I have photo proof that I once was ripped and climbed a couple of 5.12's in my 60's. Better to be a has been than a never was.

At 67 1/2, I'm feeling fat, not ripped this spring, but summer 2014, I managed to look ripped (for me) for a bouldering shot.

I'll live with it, since I managed to carry a 40 lb. pack that fall, through the Brenta Dolomites.

But my wife Heidi is ripped, & since she had borrowed a guide's rock shoes, made it up a route I couldn't climb.

Luckily, on our end of adventure Celebration night in Arco, the keys were not in this tractor left in the plaza, or Heidi would have enjoyed another adventure.

Age 61. This thing is only about V5, but it's the best recent pic I've got right now.

I try to wear a lot of clothes when I climb so you don't have to see how unripped I am the most ripped I have been in awhile was last summer.

Started in 79 (21 years old) so I barely qualify as a 70's climber. I'm a bit porkier than I'd like to be but messing around on rocks helps keep my lats pretty honed for a math professor looking at 60.

I've been working out a lot at the local gym and should be ripped by this summer. :)

Wow Lynne, that pic gave me a great flashback to college and the time right after in mid-90s. None of my buddies and I were climbers yet, and I was the only one who made a life habit of it, but we'd be sitting around San Diego and at 10pm on a Friday decide it was time to head out to Jtree or Anza Borrego. Whenever going to Anza Borrego, we'd stop at the Lazy Lizard and play pool and enjoy conversations with the colorful local denizens who were pretty far removed from the La Jolla college scene.

Then we'd head out to a desert wash somewhere and throw down a tarp, play guitars, and fall asleep under the stars. The trips there and back, we always had the same soundtrack. My buddy probably drove 200,000 miles with the same audiocassette looping Derek and the Dominoes In Concert.

Thanks for the reminder and smiles :)

And now back to the regularly scheduled programming of old geezers who could kick my ass.

My first thought on the the title to this thread was that it had something to do with smoking weed.

Not so ripped toting 50 lbs of flab since the 1970's

Or did you mean ripped as in high? I haven't touched the stuff since '78. But my girlfriend here looks pretty ripped.
