Nice aerodynamics (at about 20 mph)! And I don't get the split level roof.
Seems like it also has less clearance than most TT's.

It's almost like it's a reaction to suburbia.
EDIT: "also about mobility, simplifying, reducing or eliminating overhead/mortgage, already being very comfortable with each other in close quarters, maintenance" right, so it's a reaction to suburbia. ;-)
v funny story: I have a friend that squeezed the double axle trailer through his side yard, built the mother out, and I mean OUT. He gwine have to rip his fence out to get her out. Or maybe just relocate all over the flat 1/3 acre every time he needs new views.

It might be if it could even get out of suburbia, but with that lack of clearance I doubt it.

I'm a fan of these things, and my wife and I have been talking for a while about something like this. It's not just a "reaction to suburbia," though for some, I'm sure it is. It's also about mobility, simplifying, reducing or eliminating overhead/mortgage, already being very comfortable with each other in close quarters, maintenance--or lack, thereof, and other considerations.
If it were possible right now, we might've already made and moved into one.
Cool find!

20k for materials is way high. You can buy a built one for that price.
I have a 10k pound capacity dual axle equipment trailer that I am going to build one on.

^^^ Probably what you would be charged but the reality is $4k - $6k in materials.

The pendant lights, the kitchen stove, the garage door and the interior wall cladding will cost $4-6k.

trailer was 1800 off Craigslist, I need to fix the electric brakes, no biggie.
Yeah, there are some pricey fixtures in that rig, pendant lights are beyond stupid. I am out of touch with the prices on high end crap so yo might be right. For the basic construction pud is close to what you can do it for on a budget.

For the basic construction pud is close to what you can do it for on a budget. Be sure to post pix - haha - amazing what some guys can do with the lumber isle at Home Depot.
What I see is at least $20k in materials alone, at the low end, and the guy who put it together probably doesn't work for minimum wage. Probably doesn't spend much time in Home Depot either.

Probably roughly $ 20,000 + in materials alone. Plus cost of trailer and labor to put it all together. If you have that tiny house company build it for you. They are probably going to want close to $80,000. I certainly wouldn't do it for any less.

Only idiots (flip flop in this case) pay retail.
I could see him paying $40k or more for this. Our economy thrives because of guys like him.
It's quite obvious we don't have many builders chiming in on this one.

You guys should check out the hgtv show on the company that builds these custom trailers. Pretty interesting and detail oriented. The prices they charge are high ( think Aspen prices)
As a builder for 30 years and interior trim contractor for the last 17 years in the "Aspen of the front range" I would charge at least $80,000 for that rig and get it too! Attention to detail is a must with these trailers. Cheers.
Ok, back to more boogie boarding on the Big Island

I'm a builder. Who builds. And writes professional bids and estimates....for building. I've built my own tiny house, caravan trailer and big stuff too. I can estimate the real cost of that bathroom door and explain the difference in a T-111 sh#t-box office trailer on beat up rusty trailer and the fine little home on wheels in the article.
Pud probably can't make a sandwich much less something as righteous as a nice home. (Prove me wrong: write the bid. I'll buy it)
