It seems that voters will get the chance to approve the recreational utilization of the Dread Ganja in November.

What say you all?

This is apparently what it looks like.

My friends in the wine industry are a bit worried. It 5-10 years there could be a real shift in recreation.

All I can say is that there are a LOT of brand-spanking new Industrial Sized Greenhouses sitting empty outside of Carpinteria.

Somebody knows something is coming their way.

It's already utilized recreationally.

What we're fixing to vote on is increasing its cost and ramping up enforcement.

^picky picky

"legal recreational" utilization, but yes everybody wants a piece of the pie

UCSD is already working on "a faster, better way to determine whether drivers are high on" maryjane (for all you oldtimers in the audience).

Soon it will require a license to operate a camera, when flying higher than a kite.

How dey do dat?

Here in Orygun it has been such a non-event. I expect Cali to be similar. Still illegal in national parks, but it mostly is an ignored commodity already.

It's been legal in Colorado now for a year and the stats show that only 10% of the state's inhabitants use it. We do make a lot of money from out of state tourists though and they recently busted a huge mafia style grower operation which was exporting it to other states.

Washington's had it legal for a year now. Newspaper said more money is spent on pot in Spokane county than any of bread, milk, or wine. Great for the tax base!

FFO, man!

Gypsy Greens and Green Lady Marijuana are within easy walking distance of home. Frankly, what's the big deal?? It's not like there are car wrecks everywhere or violent crime, now. My kids are totally against it, and it kind of stinks. Otherwise, life goes on....

I thoroughly enjoyed the mountain collective tour I just took which took me through Washington Oregon and Colorado (among others). I was surprised that it was not as expensive as i would have thought. I could find some at $25/eighth although not as high quality as what I can get for the same price on the street here. I'd be fine spending a bit more knowing that some of it goes to schools and infrastructure, etc. In addition to the rather high tax on the product there is also the income tax of the dispensary employees as well as growers that doesn't exist with street sales.
California will never have this though

That would also eliminate employers being able to deny a workers comp claim for someone that isn't high on the job but failed a piss test because they smoked the night before, the week before, two weeks before. Of course that means the price of workers comp will go up because they will no longer be able to unfairly deny those claims.

I don't smoke, but I sure as hell hope we can pass such a bill. Our national forests and parks are taking a beating from the illegal pot farms, and we waste a gazillion dollars on enforcement. I bet Gov. Jerry and the morons in the capital are wetting their pants over the potential tax revenues. Bring on the smoke!

it's already being used in L.A county.. that's why I don't smoke when I go climb or surf because all it takes is a some a 5% THC swab then DUI..

Meanwhile in Amsterdam.

HOLLAND'S NEW MARIJUANA LAWS ARE CHANGING OLD AMSTERDAM
BY WINSTON ROSS ON 2/22/15 AT 4:03 PM

...New laws target even the smallest of marijuana growers in Holland. In the past, people could grow up to five plants without fear of retribution. In 2011, the government issued new police guidelines and declared anyone who grew with electric lights, prepared soil, “selected” seeds or ventilation would be considered “professional.” It’s a significant change, as professional growers risk major penalties, including eviction and blacklisting from the government-provided housing in which more than half of the country’s citizens reside.
