After the 7 Wonders of the World Trip I am putting together some travel articles and how to guides. Any suggestions for this Travel Checklist ?

In addition to having a card with no foreign transaction fees, some don't charge a foreign currency exchange fee and reimburse ATM fees with cooperating foreign banks. This allows you to withdraw small amounts often without extra fees. No point in having lots of cash on you.

Also, make sure your card has a smart chip in it. Lots of countries are getting away from swipe readers faster than we are.

You see, Chris, besides the helpful suggestions now you have a nice new
homepage photo.

You might want to note that many USA cell phones won't work over yonder.
Oh, never mind the 'toiletries', just be sure to take some emergency TP
for those places where it is otherwise called a newspaper.

Take a couple/few bucks in USA quarters with your state on the reverse side as a token gift. Great conversation starters when somebody asks you where you are from. You often get a foreign coin with similar meaning in return.

Pre-travel innoculations, or drinking sewer water, to condition your immune system to avoid sickness while traveling

LearningTrad, that is hilarious!

Excellent list so far. I would add the following:

Small bottle of liquid soap. This can be used in many different ways such as body washing as well as clothes washing.

Small bottle of iodine tablets or other water purification tablets.

Several types of pain medication in original labeled packaging. Trying to find asprin or ibuprofen in some places in the world is a real hassle.

A small traveler's first aid kit.

A set of electrical plug converters for the area you are traveling to. Make sure your electrical device such as cell phone charger can handle 220 VAC if traveling to areas that have this as the standard voltage.

How to say "hello my name is...", "goodbye", "thank you" (and very importantly "no thank you", "food", "water" and "room/accommodation" in any language of a country you are visiting.

Also a brief on local customs i.e. what is and isn't acceptable in the country you are visiting. Google "7 Innocent Gestures That Can Get You Killed Overseas".

Alpine style applies well to any type of travel. You can almost always get by more comfortably with less than you bring.

I like to have a small collection of photos of home, which makes for good conversation fodder with the locals who are curious about what it's like where you come from.

This sort of interaction might just slow you down, however, if you're trying to tick off some kind of RTW bucket list with maximal carbon footprint.
