For all the mainstream media hoo-haw that this event generated, I'm not sure I've ever seen any other specific event generate so many related threads here at ST. Interesting, that.

The media reaction and circus was downright hilarious. This Fox News reporter was repeatedly screwing up her voiceover as KJ and TC were standing nearby ready to go on with Anderson Cooper. Finally, it was like, my god, somebody help that woman! Jess Clayton, PR person from Patagonia went over to give some friendly pointers but in the end she still screwed it up. I think she was in your video above.

It's fascinating to see how it went from zero to sixty. Over New Year's there were probably less than 4 or 5 of us standing with Tom in the meadow (as long as the sun was shining...I was very fair weather). Then KABOOM VIRAL VIRAL. I thought it would be big news but more limited. WOW....congrats over and over again. I hope the guys get more than new puffies from their sponsors.
Watching through Tom's cameras I'd have to say it pretty much was Hands and Feet. The Whole Truth and Nothing But Hands and Feet.
Thanks for that compilation! Fun indeed.

The explanation is simple. The 'story' was that they climbed the route using only their hands and feet.
