For some reason I cannot load more than one photo on a post (sometimes none at all). The photos are all jpegs less than 1Mb, but that shouldn't matter as I cannot get past Step 2.

I press the upload photo but it takes me nowhere, it just stays on the Step 2 page. I think it is my Mac, but I will try to find another site/forum to try and to upload a pic (or more). I don't think it is ST, as I was able to load a photo on "You learn something new everyday" thread. But just one, when I try to load a second, can't get past Step 2.

Advice please.

Hi Patrick,

Not sure, but I have a mac too and when I tried it I noticed the second picture would not load, just like you reported. I closed the window on the second attempt and then tried again. This time it worked, but I have no idea why. Hope that helps....at least you know others see it too, and you got a bit of a work around.

--Bill

Testing it out from my Mac... and yes, getting the second photo was stalled.

I tried again after closing that window and it worked.

Used option to upload from computer on the first try.
Repeated for the second and closed window.
Tried again, and went for previously uploaded pics, then back, and tried loading from computer (success).

Jim, LOL, but that doesn't solve my problem. Hmmm, perhaps some sort of gel from the pharmacist… for my computer that is.

Well it is working with Windows7 via Firefox if that helps.

There are viruses that do infect Macs but no one who owns one, dares talk about it.

thats because we either never learned how to deal with a virus, or have forgotten and are now too embarrassed to ask what to do. haha..

I'm on a mac, I have had trouble loading pics some times. Other days.. no trouble. Don't ask me why. I own a mac. I don't know shyte about computers.

Bill, I have tried a couple of those things, sometimes they work, sometimes not, sort of frustrating though, but as John put it, "don't ask me why".

I don't think it is a virus though.

I'd say it is "nice to know" that other people have trouble as well, but trouble is never nice. ;-)

I guess it is just something I have to put up with, though there must be a solution.

Patrick,

Too bad you get mixed results on using the work-around I mentioned. It's convenient to be able to upload in the same window you are using to reply to or begin a thread.

I usually upload the photos from the taco's 'my settings' menu and then bring them into a thread. It's awkward but reliable. I usually open another window and upload that way, and then reference the new pictures in the 'post a reply' window.

Good luck

Probably more about the browser than the OS. What browser and version?

Well...here are three random images from my files...not seeing any issues, Pilgrims. Firefox 28.0 running on Mavericks 10.9.2 hacked to a Mac Pro 1,1.

On an iMac I grabbed two photos from above but then could not load them with ST's facility. When I changed their names, shortening them, they loaded no problem. I have never had a problem.

jstan, it won't even allow me to get past Step 2 to 'see' what's on my computer, so it is not an issue of photo size or name.

Mac OS X 10.7.5
Safari 6.1.2 (7537.74.9)

I'll try Bill's 'my settings' way and if that does not work I'll try Firefox.

Thanks all for your advice and tips.

Cheers

Good Question...

TT shrink those bad boys down and they'll load faster.

I often have issues as well so I have to do separate loads. Makes me not want to do TR's, as often they are all about the images.

"Warts on Wieners" is a good name for a knobby climb don't ja think
or "Warts on Whiners" for that matter.

Delhi Dog, it's not about their size or names, I just can't even get Step 2 to open my desktop or photo folders to access pix.

Okay, I switched over to Firefox to load some pics on the "learn something new everyday" thread and it worked fine, so obviously (I think) it must be Safari, though I still prefer Safari for surfing.

Lets go surfin now

And while you guys are at it, how do I turn this photo of my grandson 90 degrees?

Bump for the same question (in general, not just his grandson's pic).

Edit: Weird, if I upload a pic while typing a post it comes up sideways, but if I go through the upload option on the toolbar it comes out right...

Edit edit: Crap, that trick stopped working. Any help?

Of course the first question is Mac or PC? For a PC it all depends on your OS version and I can't help you with it.

On a Mac it's not too difficult. Unfortunately I don't know of a web browser that will do it.

This will work on any Mac with an OS from I think 10.5 onwards.
Use Preview to open the image. There is a rotation arrow in the center of the window title bar. Rotate and save.

On a laptop, it's easy: Turn the computer on its side
Also works for a desktop 'cause you'll have an external monitor.
That won't work on a later model iPhone or iPad since it has a gravitational field sensor.

Not that anyone really cares.

Exiftool is your friend for editing image orientation metadata:

http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

If you don't want to use the command line, there are a number of GUI front ends for various platforms listed on that page as well.
