This would be a great project for the Facelift expansion that Ken has been exploring.
What say you, Chicken Skinner? Take the party on the road?
Get you away from the floor polisher?

I'm sure they're all legal immigrants and in no way connected to drug cartels.
They should probably receive amnesty as they are doing work Americans refuse to do????

If they're migrants, why don't they just migrate over to Colorado or up to Washington. They can grow all the weed they want there, and no one will bother them because it's legal.

History is a depressing area of study.
The biggest lesson in history is that we are doomed to repeat it.
Prohibition didn't work before and it's not working again exactly the same way.

You know, this news actually brings up a good point between medical and the "wild-grown". I had some serious issues with non-medical when I got to Cal.
A few actually felt toxic, and that was my main impetus for going medical.
I know there are legit wild-growers out there - this situation doesn't help ANYTHING.

My point is that this is just another deficit we suffer with uncontrolled borders. There are several others.
I'm kinda ambivolent with drug laws, especially weed. Just f*#king de-criminalize it. Federally.
Coke? No way.

Sadly, a lot of the people working the illegal grow sites aren't doing so voluntarily. A lot of them are working while their families are under threats back home, that's why they have guns but usually just run. The cartels make big bucks at the expense of the lives of some pretty defenseless people.
That said, I'm sure there are some not to innocent people growing their own stuff.
As far as the chemicals go, most of them really aren't that bad, but the rodenticides are definitely messing things up. (of course nobody wants ANY chemicals on our public lands).
If anyone has specific questions about this stuff let me know. I wrote an ecological risk assessment for the national park service about illegal marijuana grows, have worked with the DEA on undercover stings, found and reported 4 sites myself and have presented at meetings with with the CA attorney general, Dr. Mouhrad (from the video) and others so I'm pretty familiar with this issue.
Solution? Not my area of expertise.

Apparently it's nobody's area! We refuse to enforce or defend our borders, but we spout bullshit all day about Ukraine's borders.
We are willfully not trying to defend our southern borders, we might offend some people are disallow work to some groups.
Shut down the f*#king border! We could do it if we had the will.

To downplay this is irresponsible. We've had 2 local park rangers shot in the suburban Bay Area in the past couple of years. Not to mention the hauls they had out of Castle Rock State Park of grows.
Why do you think they carry .40 sidearms now?
Ranger was shot in the legs in Los Gatos recently. He simply stumbled upon their grounds.
Dr. Sprock used to go down there and run across their grows all the time. He may have been smoking their junk though....

DMT, did you bother to look at the source of your link?
Did you know that border-murders are often not classified as border-crimes and referred to the FBI as simple murders?
Those are not included in your silly, biased numbers by the Pew Hispanic group.
And what does Hispanic mean anyway? Is that like "latino"?
And if Hispanic refers to 'of Spanish descent', doesn't that make most "Hispanics" non-indigenous people, or foreigners?
This is the same arguement these as#@&%es use to try to take back Aztlan, or their former territories, which by their own admissions are technically not theirs.
But I digress...

We'll see the CO and WA crime stats soon enough, I guess.
If I'm not mistaken the Co. weed-related accidents is up....

Sorry, I need to clarify.
When I say "wild growers", I mean those that are not legally registered under the medical act.
