Hitting the Bay Area next week.
While there, I'll be presenting two shows, one south end, one north end:
1 , Saratoga/San Jose REI, Friday April 5, 2013, 7pm

Admission free. Please go to the REI website to book seats--they are going fast!
Show will feature a few personal adventures with friends and partners over the last 25 years, and explain some of the very colorful history of climbers, going back a century, getting to the summits of the towers of the southwest--amid the biggest, baddest, most outrageous landscape on Earth.
Hope to see lots of Supertopoians!

Woohoo! The Growler Tower. Great pic Mike. Huge thanks to the Crow Peak Brewery for hosting the show last night. Stout beer and strong people. Or was it the other way round? It's a bit hazy.....

Yeah. Meandering back south from Spearfish.
We'll both be in San Francisco. Flying there though.

Uh oh....what have I done, or not done....
Did eat a gorgeous bison steak in Spearfish a couple days ago.
In a restaurant that was built in 1893. A banner year for the area. The same year a couple local ranchers constructed a ladder, with rungs hammered into a long vertical crack, to the top of nearby Devils Tower.

Joshua Tree, hmm, yes. Not sure when. Many fond memories of JTree. And Phoenix....
From the Fisher Towers a week ago:
Hot Parad-Ice was very steep, clean. About A4, for the first pitch. Some Pecker placements seemingly driven into blank rock, somehow.
Must post up a trip report....so far behind on stuff...gotta run...

Just got back from a lovely slide show showing the history and best spires in the desert southwest. Some of the pics are amazingly unique; Mr. Galwas gear, original eye bolt style that was used on Shiprock.
Took Crusher and Fran out for a pint and chips and they are two of the most understated AND completely amazing people.
Definitely come out and see the show.
Crusher is selling his book cheap if you bring cash $40! Climber special since amazon is like 50!
Don't make them take those things back home on the plane. HUGE book with amazing pics!!
