Has a package with 2 nights at the Ahwahnee and the Bracebridge Dinner for $1424,
so like Melissa I wonder if you meant $230 or something for the cabin version?

[Edit:] haha, I'm a noob in this venue - I guess it's $1424 per person, so $2848 for 2 people for 2 nights. (I'm a $0/night kind of guy)

Umm? do you mean on my phone number Melissa?

I think this premium package has been sold out for a while now but Yosemite at Falls Lodge , Wawona and Tenaya are available for those dates at a lower price.

No...$2300 for 3 nights in a cabin honestly surprised me, even at Yosemite prices. I wasn't trying to be a wiseass (maybe a little). I do wish you luck recovering your investment. I'd drive the long drive if I was going to eat that kind of rent!

OK. I'm ignorant.

What is a Bracebridge Dinner?
(and why does the dinner-only reservations phone have a Utah area code?)

And do I understand that $2K+ doesn't even get a room at the Awahnee?

Now that's funny!

Edit: Gregg, maybe these guys don't fully understand it's at the Awahnee not to be confused with the the Ahwahnee! Good luck CM, this is just the type of gift some rich bastard is looking to find last minute!

Sorry Fish Finder, I like you, but this is the taco, and the only reason we eat our dead is because they kicked and screamed till the end.

Its 3 nights.

Cottage rooms start at 497 a night + tax =551x 3 =1653
featured Cottage rooms start at 523 + tax=580 x 3 =1781

Dinner prices start at 300 a person. I don't understand the start at price. Maybe front row seats cost more. Don't know.

1653+600=2253
1783+600=2383

2300 sounds right. If you can afford it, I hear that its worth it. The dinner is quite a production. 4 hours long. When I worked in the park we got to see it one year when the park was closed. They wouldn't serve us in the Ahwahnee Dinning room, we had to see it in the cafeteria, plus we didn't get all the fancy food. But the show was fun to see.

Christmas at the Ahwahnee.. Thats pretty awesome.

Still want to know more about this dinner.
Is it some sort of 16th century re-enactment?
Do the actors not bathe for months?
Is there a surcharge for extra ptomaine?

Ron... its a whole show.. Jesters, jugglers, acrobats, singing. Its pretty cool. They even get some of the park employees to dress up in rags and beg at the windows. That part is kind of weird to me, but the rest is cool. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

http://www.yosemitepark.com/bracebridge-dinner.aspx

Celebrated annually since 1927, the Bracebridge Dinner transforms The Ahwahnee into a 17th century English manor for a feast of food, song and mirth. The inspiration for this yuletide ceremony was Washington Irving's Sketch Book that described Squire Bracebridge and English Christmas traditions of that period.
The Bracebridge Dinner is an elegant and artistic four-hour pageant of classic carols, Renaissance rituals and entertainment of the Middle Ages. More than 100 players create the roles of the Squire and his family, their servants, the Lord of Misrule, minstrels and other performers. The Ahwahnee Dining Room serves as the Great Hall and stage for the festivities and is decked with magnificent wreaths, an elaborate squire's table, large banners and traditional Yuletide decorations. The centerpiece of this revered event is a seven-course banquet of rich and wondrous dishes prepared by The Ahwahnee’s world-class culinary staff.

And people on this forum continue to insist that the rich are struggling...

Same story at the Mohonk Mountain House (Gunks), when I started climbing, the cost of a weekend there was excessive, but within resaon. My salary has more than doubled in the ten years since, but the cost of a weekend at MMH has shot out of my reach, or at least my justifiable reach, and it's booked out months in advance.

Whoever gets this, enjoy.

I worked at least six or more of those big production dinners. It was kind of fun, because people were in a grand mood. I was the head waiter's bus dog,so we made big bucks..(-;...Lots of returnees....edit>.6 years of those dinners...

BITD, there was only 4 or 5 shows.. One on the 23, 24 & 25...Now there is tons of them...

Greg, I bet you can make some dough on ebay with those tickets....

yep, I still have some menus

Rockin' Gal and i worked @ some Bracebridge dinners together.

Remember it's for two, so calculating quickly, that's $1150 per person. It seems like a lot of money, but compare it to something else and it gets smaller.

Go ask Alice.

Thanks John M for being the voice of reason here.

Yes this is a special event for those that can afford it

My business is "Mammoth Elite Home Service" not " Dirtbag Cleaning and Reservations"

mammothelitehomeservices.com

I always like to walk the fine line between business and pleasure and I will go and do all the driving instead of leaving it empty.

So all the single girls out there who think they might want to enjoy a Yosemite Christmas

Post here or contact me.

I am so busy as this is my season and I will update all the specific info for those who have asked later when I am at home .

Merry Christmas and thanks for the interest everyone
