Paganmonkeyboy,

Because some people just don't know how to play fair.

When you are losing the argument it's not fair to leave crying taking the football with you on your way home . . .

"These people who are making a big deal out of gay marriage? I don't give a f* about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not?! We're making a big deal out of things we shouldn't be making a deal out of. They go on and on with all this bulls* about "sanctity" -- don't give me that sanctity crap! Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want." - clint eastwood

We've mostly had the freedom to do many things that we want to do. I'm all for freedom. Some things we should be allowed to do without the very narrow minded laws of our bureaucracy. An example, why not allow BASE jumping at certain times in National Parks? GOD doesn't have a rule or law forbidding BASE jumping? Probably thinks its pretty cool really that we have figured that out and that we're pushing the envelope in that area of adventure.

However, as a Christian I know I'm limited by GOD's laws. Man may pass laws of all kinds that go far beyond and that allow many things that GOD and his word directly forbids and that GOD is absolutely 100% opposed to and has said "No. Don't do it. Don't do these things." These Laws have always been here for us to guide us, at least since GOD gave the Law to Moses that he brought down from Mt. Sinai.

Man has the freedom to do want he wants to do within the limits of GOD's laws. GOD sends the rain to the just and to the unjust. However, there is a judgement. You cannot escape the judgement and consequences of your actions when you go against GOD's laws, whether man's laws support your behavior or not. We are held to account for the life we live here on Earth. You may enjoy a life of homosexual/gay marriage, but you won't like the eternal consequences for making that choice.

Don't expect Christians or other people of faith to be happy about this. When we go against GOD's laws then eventually a country and nation can turn into Sodom and Gomorrah, and if you know you're Bible, it didn't turn out so well for them.

You'll get away with the behavior of sin for awhile, this Earthly lifetime, but not forever. Christians don't bring the judgement, GOD does.

I'm not going to hate people who are gay. No, I care for them just like everyone else. Love the sinner, but hate the sin. All I can do is witness to them. I can't force my views upon anyone or pass laws against anyone, nor should I ever try. The eternal Law of GOD already exists. We don't need to add to it or take away from it. It's perfect.

You can dance and drink the night away on the Titanic if you want to, but you can't escape the consequences. "Sin is a pleasure for a short season," as the Good Book says.

I really don't give a rat's ass about your silly myths, except when folks use it as a basis for policy.

The Christians here seem just fine about this, except for you Klimmer.

Are you a better Christian than they are?

Not gonna argue with you about the Bible. That's your universe and you are welcome to have it.

I just want to say; Obama, bold move dude.

(I liked the jingling car keys statement in the other thread.)

I'm for justice and I think gay marriage is fair.

Government should not be involved in marriage. It is a religious thing. Except, are we on a slippery slope? Polygamy? Gay polygamy? Inter species marriage?

Perhaps marriage should go back to religion with branding. We are in a "Christian" marriage. We are in an Islamic relationship. Interesting topic. I just don't care that much.

Why don't you go for a climb and quit presenting all this BS?

Monolith,

Nope.

Just seek the truth of the matter and don't misrepresent what GOD says or thinks concerning any matter. How do we know what GOD thinks or says? Read The Good Book, and study comparing the word like a Borean, rightly dividing the Word of GOD into truth.

False doctrines should be dealt with.

For the "Christians" here that are riding the fence and not sure about what The Good Book, The Holy Bible, The Living Word of GOD, what GOD says regarding Homosexuality and being "gay" . . .

Homosexuality: The Christian Perspective
Study By: Lehman Strauss
http://bible.org/article/homosexuality-christian-perspective

If you read this very thorough study, you will learn a great deal. GOD hates sin, but loves the sinner. We have an obligation to tell others what GOD says. Souls and eternity are on the line and in danger of being lost. GOD also holds us to account if we don't tell others of the danger. We are our brother's keeper.

If someone was driving toward a cliff and they didn't know it would you tell them about the danger ahead and tell them to stop? Of course you would. This is nothing different.

Edit:

WB, Lol. Ok, driving toward the edge of a cliff and in imminent danger of plunging off to their death . . . How's that?

Maybe bring a BASE rig right?

Lol.

So you are saying the Christians here misrepresent the truth, but you see right through it. I'd say that makes you a 'better' Christian.

I thought we didn't have to do that Old Testament stuff any more?

Seems people are picking and choosing. Did you stone your neighbor for working on Sunday? Same thing.

New Testament, page one. Jesus was born of a virgin birth. AND He was the the new leader because the prophesy said he would be in the line of David. And Joseph, his dad, was a descendant of David. ... oh, wait a minute..!!

Okay, I blame the editors!

If that stuff holds your life together and works for you. Good for you! Free country with freedom of religions. So let's respect each other.

If they are a professing Christian and also hold the view that Homosexuality is A OK with GOD, nothing to worry about, and they hold the view that The Word of GOD says its A OK, then they are very, very mistaken.

That indeed is a false doctrine. False doctrines lead people astray and away from GOD. False doctrines can lead people away from GOD for eternity. That's never a good thing.

The OT is against Homosexuality and so is the NT. They support one another.

People don't really understand the OT and NT link sometimes. In the OT Israel was under the condemnation of the Law. In the New Testament, we are still under the Law, but we are not under condemnation, but we are now under grace through Jesus Christ. No longer is it an "Eye for an Eye." No longer is it punishable by death for breaking the Law. We deserve that, yes. That is what the OT was meant to do to teach us.

But now in the NT, after Christ died for us, we now have grace through the Blood of Jesus Christ. However, we are still to abide by the Law. That has never changed. We now have the ability to obey the Law with GOD's help, since now GOD can live in our hearts, since we are now cleansed of our sin through the Blood that was shed by The Lamb of GOD, Jesus Christ.
