Tequila. At this very moment. With fresh-squeezed lime juice and a splash of Cointreau. Over ice. In a glass with a salted rim.
Works for me. But that's probably not what Mr. High Fructose was thinking of.

I haven't tried testosterone replacement therapy. Maybe I will give it a go. I'm not certain, but I remember hearing that it is expensive and not covered under most insurance plans. I use to produce plenty of testosterone, so previously it was not an issue for me.
Are you thinking of taking it? Have you been tested to see if you are low, or are you going on symptoms?

I'm right now trying to find out how long a 10ml vial at $120 typically lasts. That's how much it'll cost me if my insurance doesn't cover it. They're closed til monday so I'll find out then.
Yeah. It came in low. Amazing. Given my interests. I had only complained to my doctor that I'm not as interested in partying late at night with my young girlfriend as much as I used to!
The T range is 193-740. Low is defined as less than 300. I came in at 263. What's up with that, eh?
So now I have a new designation: Hypogonadiac. Damn!
We'll see Monday if I can't get this turned around.
Last week, prostatitis. And now this.

Don't forget that JDF killed himself. Might not be the panacea you are hoping for.

Don't forget the power of diet. My T level is 678 and am in mid-50's. Dump the meat, dairy, grains. The closer you get to low fat raw fruits, veges, greens the better.

monolith,
Excellent number. Curious about one aspect of your lifestyle. Are you around many women over the course of your day? If so, could you give some account of it?
It's my background in neuroscience and control systems (via endocrinology) prompting me to ask.
Much appreciated for any feedback in this area.
.....
My diet is excellent. My athletic ability is excellent. We're both 50-something, you're 678 and I'm 263 - this means something's going on.
EDIT
Curious as to why you checked yours in the first place. If you care to share.

Love ya, Weld it.
But I'm hoping for a little seriousness on this thread for awhile.

What time of day did you have the blood drawn? According to this site..
The only accurate way to detect the condition is to have your doctor measure the amount of testosterone in your blood. It sometimes may take several measurements of testosterone to be sure if a patient has a deficiency, since levels of testosterone tend to fluctuate throughout the day. The highest levels of testosterone are generally in the morning. This is why doctors prefer, if possible, to obtain early morning levels of testosterone.

Thanks John, from the site:
The options available for testosterone replacement are:
(1) intramuscular injections, generally every two or three weeks
(2) testosterone patches worn either on the body or on the scrotum (the sac that contains the testicles). These patches are used daily. The body patch application is rotated between the buttocks, arms, back or abdomen.
(3) testosterone gels that are applied daily to the shoulders, upper arms, or abdomen.
.....
Well do, Norton. Thanks.
.....
Norton,
Under 250 is really low
You're scarin me, Norton. And I don't scare easy! :) Nor do I feel ill in any way. Can't wait till monday now.
Appreciate the feedback, off to read it again.

Ghost, I'm going with a splash of Drambuie instead of Contreau. It's pretty tasty. How much fresh lime you rolling with, quarter wedge, squeezed or a full half ? I going no salt too.
It's all about the T, baby....
EDIT: (2) testosterone patches worn either on the body or on the scrotum (the sac that contains the testicles). These patches are used daily. The body patch application is rotated between the buttocks, arms, back or abdomen.
FACT: SACK PATACHES AER GAY.

But I'm hoping for a little seriousness on this thread for awhile.
Okay. A couple of serious comments. As someone above pointed out after you mentioned your discovery that jdf saw testosterone as the solution to his problems, he may have felt better when he wrote that, but it didn't solve his problems in the long term.
And re what monolith said about his T level being the result of his diet: just remember that he says his diet is the solution to just about every problem anybody ever brings up here. I can't prove him wrong, but I don't know that he can prove himself right, either. Caveat emptor.
And, stepping off the serious bus...
Damn you! That sounds great, but I just got home and ain't going out to get some....
The trick, Steve, is to have all that stuff in stock. When you finally get home at the end of a hot day, the last thing you want to do is go out shopping. What you really want to do is go the freezer and get out the ice cubes and tequila, and go to the pantry and get the Cointreau, limes, and salt. One minute later you're kicked back on the deck with a margarita...

Yer like a true Margarita prophet of some kind, I'm sure. Wise words.
See my Drambuie post above ^^^^^, but I learn from the master. I'm hitting one the Drambuie rigs right now. Pretty good!

Thanks again, Norton. I think I'll give it a rest tonight, let it all soak in. I'll get back to you. Thanks for all that info.
.....
Ghost, thanks for the input. I posted that from Juan just for the caveat emptor point you cited. Thanks. Should make one think twice. And from first readings tonight, it looks like Vitamin T doesn't come without its contraindications, some potentially major.
We'll see. Oh, and no worries about the nutrition part. I'm well versed in that particular area. For a long time now. With my sports and biochemistry and nutrition background.
Thanks for keeping it serious - for just a wee bit.
Bluering,
please read comment to Weld_It. Thanks. Party on, bro. ;)

The drink-mixing and weld_it comments while the adults engage in serious medical dialogue make this thread a scream.
I think you mean geriatrics...hehe. But Ghost has same damn good 'real' margarita tips.
HFCS, normally I'd tell to screw yerself, but I get pissed too when people de-rail my threads. So I apologize.
Good luck with your Tequila treatments. Bwahaa!!!! (good luck though for real).

Ghost knows beverages. He also has his priorities figured out. He might even know something about this "T" stuff. His older brother does that Dos Equis commercial.
