He didn't sell me anything. He made an offer but I didn't buy it. Those who did buy it: tsk, tsk.
I agree with you Ramjit. I didn't care for Reagan very much either.

Any thoughts on Fred Thompson? Actor-Senator-Actor.
Ditto what Juan said about Arnold.

Fred Thompson: politician-actor-politician-actor is the correct progression. A staff member of the Watergate committee, he later took on the Tennessee Parole Board--eventually playing himself in a movie version--where he prosecuted the board members and the Tennessee Gov for taking bribes in exchange for pardons ("Marie" with Sissy Spacek, Morgan Freeman, etc.)
As for Thompson the politician, he definitely had WAY more political experience than Arnold, so the comparison is weak, Fatrad. As a Tennessee resident years ago when he ran for the Senate I knew him only from the movies, but it soon became clear that he's way more than a actor...unlike Arnold. I had a couple of chance to vote for him and never did, but the guy certainly had the vita for the job.
As for the theatrical abilities required of all politicians, his particular schtick was to drive his beat up red pickup to campaign appearances around the state. Kind of similar to Lamar's red and black lumberjack shirt...you gotta have a gimmick.

I like both Law and Order and SVU. The one I don't like is CI. The detective is an annoying and unbelievable know-it-all.

It's satisfying to see the perpetrators busted. It's also interesting to think about how people can do the kinds of grueling jobs that people fighting those scumbags have to do, even if it is all only make believe. Lots of good drama involves rape, murder, war, Republican politics, etc.

You got that right Dingus. People that watch all these shows involving DNA and rapes, are real sick humans. But that's our society now. We are watching the demise of western civilization.
And what really pisses me off is how in the last 6 months my cable tv is showing soft porn at 9pm. Sh#t, you can a least wait till llpm. I would like to watch a good non porn movie at 9pm.

I can't watch SVU either. It's a rape/homicide every week! I haven't found the kidnapping/child abuse shows, hopefully I won't.
Ugh.

I love the irony in casting Ice-T, author of "Cop Killers," for that part.
And Juan, why aren't people who watch shows about murder, genocide, etc., just as "sick" in your book? By your logic, if you found "Schindler's List" or "Saving Private Ryan" entertaining, you must be a sicko. I understand not liking such shows, but your logic escapes me.

I'm very sorry about that. But I still don't think you're right in saying that somehow people who watch SVU are sick, at least any more so than people who watched "Saving Private Ryan."
Anyway, I see why you avoid shows like that.

Probally a big reason I have no sympathy for any of the pieces of living crap that are criminals.
No other feeling then getting home from a day at college and seeing four Torrance police cars in front of your house.
If I ever met the rapist I would kill them on the spot.

A bit of thread drift there. Back to the thread's topic, Juan I still haven't figured what transgression of Arnie's has you riled up. I know he has a fair amount of transgressions and dodgy activities/doings but what one (if there is any specific one) has you riled up?

Clint Eastwood was OK though.
PS - Of course he did not answer it. He is still waiting for LEB/Lois to chime in.
