It's there folks! Super stellar ice climbing. Have at it!!!!

It's THIN! We didn't place a single screw (although we tried haha). Pro is hard to get. Luckily I had my super ice master partner, Shaun Byrne, lead it. He impressed me with his mixed (runout) climbing skills. There is some steep snow climbing too which made it easier on the calves. If it continues to get below freezing at night conditions will probably only get better. We imagine it would be nice neve ice. Took some sick pics too that I'll post if you guys are interested.

El Nino alright!

Cheers!

Kia

Ummmm......Tahquitz is not in San Diego county. Just for the record.

Looking for San Diego ice? Keep an eye on the north face of Cowles Mountain: rarely forms, but when it does....yee-haw!

If I was, I'd already be passed out!

Interesting troll if that's what it was. Not familiar with the climate down there, but I have seen the place.

We climbed North East Face East (5.6). Kia has the photos. The whole face was in great shape from the huge dihedral to the north buttress. A little Ice falling on Hard Lark just after mid day but the rest of the face was stable. The current forecast is for rain highs below 50 and lows below 30F. There was a lot of snow on the face. It is going to be good next weekend ... prime for scratching.
