Overview
Offwidth, chimney, slick corners, spicy face climbing, and perhaps the best 5.8 fingercrack on the planet define Sands of Time. Corner climbing leads out to the “neck” of the giant hourglass feature, and the long gorgeous finger crack angles right above the huge drop-off below the upper right side of the hourglass. Climbers frequently rappel from the top of the Hourglass (down Silk Road). The upper section of Sands of Time has a little tricky routefinding, and sometimes stays a bit dirty due to the lack of traffic.
