purdy kewl!

Not only cool to see Half Dome like that but it's just f*#king good picture.

The contrast of the foreground and the Sierras, the color seperation, and the general compostion of the photo with the Silo in the foreground.

very sweet picture, nice job to the photographer! Jerry and Jody would be proud.

nice find....

Could this be the start of a new hobby? Finding a place to see something from far away, plotting it on a map, and taking pictures?

as a kid in the mid sixties there was a gig on the am radio that i woke up to which was a report from a ranger on the top of mt.diablo in the east bay. usually typical ranger stuff like blue jays or boy scout sightings but a storm cleared out one morning and his voice telegraphed the exitement about the view like never before. had to go. 90cc motorcycle across the bay. shasta and lassen to the north but the view into yosemite was a zoomer with shine. a fabulous gash in a a range as broad as your arm span and crowding the central valley into a strip. that memory helped sooth my impatience about the duration of the crossing from coast to crags in later years. the view from mt. hamilton is right up the slot. gotta pick your day, or rather let it pick you

Here's an impressive shot, especially if you've ever topped out on Temple and wanted to keep going up Gayley and beyond:

Am I the only one who thinks this is 'shopped'?
Besides the obvious, having flown into the valley this
looks exactly as it would appear from about 7500' and
certainly not the aspect you would see from way down below.

Bluey,
Well you know we like to nit pick expecially if something is being purported as reality.
It's all harmless supposition. I just wish I had a harmless suppository.

Tami, I'm saying that Half Dome appears tilted towards the viewer. From a plane at 7500' from over El Portal or so it would appear to have the same aspect. Just sayin'....
