I spoke with the customer service department a few minutes ago. The customer service representative told me that Alpinist is reorganizing not folding. I just bought a subscription last month and was concerned about getting issue 25. She assured me that I would get issue 25 and the winter issue in a few weeks.

I don't know if she was blowing smoke but it appears she was sincere and honest. She said that the notice on the website is misleading and Alpinist will live on. She also said she hoped they would change the notice on the website to provide clarity. I hope she has the correct information from the management. Both R&I and Climbing generally suck and Alpinist is the only publication I have bought in the last three years on the newsstand.

Note; I noticed that Border's always had Alpinist in the past and last month it mysteriously disappeared.

In other words they are looking for a white knight with deep pockets which is what Ewing was.

However, what is this all about????

Notice that this says Volume 1!!!!!! And not a damn thing on their website about this. However, it looks like just a rehash with some new material.

I'd love to see some now-rich climber/gear manufacturer-types step in and keep this rig going...

IT really would be nice for that one decent climbing rag, I mean mag, to continue.

Let's hope they can come up with something.
