I was hiking under the NW face and noticed a white scar I hadn't see before just up and right of the start of Tis-sa-ack. A few of the flakes up there seemed like they might still come off. I know a few obscuro routes go through that area, so heads up... Does anyone know how recent this was...I may just be way behind...

June of last year. There's a relevant thread here if you hunt for it. Nearly took some guy out, he was looking at a choice between taking the rockfall head-on and jumping off a 30-40' cliff. He jumped. He lived. Broken legs.

Yeah, Micah Dash told me about it. He was cruising the slabs many times last summer trying to free the Reg, including this day. Stayed with the guy and took care of him until YOSAR, which had recently dropped him OTS, picked him up. Gratis.
Hey Lambone, did you ever get up Tis-sa-ack?

Hey Rotto,
naw...life got in the way of my tis-si-ack plands. Due to a short time window...just did the Cap instead.
That route is on my short list though. Chris Mac generously offered to supply hardwear for restoration work. Would like to find a qualified partner for the project as my drilling experince is limited.
It'll be way spooky hiking up/ climbing under that rock scar though.

The first time I hiked up there, last October, I scuttled between safe zones as if I was under fire. By the third trip, I just slogged along as if I was on the Mist Trail. I guess you just gotta hope it's not your day.
The route remains on my short list, unfortunately.

Lambone-
did Tis-sa-ack a couple of years ago. Could use some work. Ex-the sunset ledge bivvy is 3 nasty 1/4 in. that i equalized with 3 #5 cams. Several natural belys which was cool. We replaced 2 bolts at anchors, none on lead. Those ladders up high are scary. Lots of fixed tat. Cut some but didn't have time for all of it. Wild position on half dome. Incredible route. Except for the ladders, it will eventually get freed.
